Shoe box layout?
That is cool. Looks like something you could make on a "shoestring" budget. Sorry....It was there...I had to use it...

Excellent modeling, Tyson Here in arizona, there were quite a few 18" or 20" mine trams, with either electric or battery powered locos (or compressed air or fireless steamers). The hobby shop down the road has a nice diorama of a mine adit, ore cars, and an ore tipple for loading onto 3ft gauge - all in O scale.
I considered a small On3 project for the sake of something different. I wanted to try my hand at a Grandt Line porter and converting some Bachmannn On30 to On3. I also considered an HOn30 project or an N scale project of building a small tabletop layout. But, remembering back, that is how I got into HOn3. And I still have at least two dozen unfinished projects on my bench, and a layout that doesn't have all it's track layed I think I need to be disciplined right now and finish what I started!

Tyson Rayles Wrote:Join the club, we are all guilty of that !!!! I just narrowly avoided a z-scale set a couple days. My wife gave me a couple nn3 kits for Christmas, and oh is the locomotive search interesting. Further, noticed that HOn2 is very close to z-scale Keeping one's focus is hard. It is almost better to avoid reading while working on a project. I don't need a Silverton RR combine, yet because I'm reading the Rainbow Route, it is calling me. Resistance isn't futile...
