Ok Rob all makes sense now. Next question is what and where are grades. Also what are inches from base to e;evations in places?

Hi Harry,
I worked out the grades, and elevations as follows:
- The interchange yard is at your base elevation of 0".
- There is a 2.8% grade up from the interchange yard to the mainline.
- I kept the grades on the mainline loop as gentle as possible and only varied the elevation from 1-1/2" to 2-1/2" giving grades of 2.0% and 1.6%.
- There is a 2.1% grade from the mainline up to the town with the wye, which is set at an elevation of 4".
- The grade to the mine had to be steep at 3.0% to gain enough elevation to cross over the grade to the town which puts the coal mine at an elevation of 5 1/8".
- I circled the only critical elevation in red, and from my estimates it should give you about 1-1/2" of clearance.
Take care,
Rob.

Rob I have given it much thought and I like the set up and being solo operator along with play time. So with that said id like to know what radios needed and where they need to be. Thanks so much.

Hi Harry,
Sorry, but you're asking the wrong person for help with the electronics. I always ask someone else to wire my layouts, since I don't enjoy that aspect of the hobby. I just bought my first DCC system to make things easier, but I still haven't installed it yet.
Take care,
Rob.

Hi Harry,
You threw me off when you said "what radios needed and where they need to be" ... I wasn't really sure why you were talking about radios. I will get the radius info to you in a bit.
Take care,
Rob.

Hi Rob,I know it's been awhile since i last posted.I've been working alot of overtime lately and haven't had the time to do much of anything. How ever i did come across this https://www.trainzportal.com/blog/view/ ... ailroading and think something like this will be more suited to my needs when it comes to designing my train layout, although it officially won't be released till December 4th.Also the objects, textures for this program will be almost limitless.I just hope my PC can handle the graphics of this program.I believe this program will allow me to see exactly what my Model Railroad will look like before i even build it in a Virtual world so to speak. Thanks for your help

HI Harry,
Actually, all of it is flex track since I don't use sectional track for my designs.
Take care,
Rob.
