Yep ! The White-House
Opps! I got distracted. The White House, it’s the house across the river of course.
You did not think about the other one in DC did you?
It's this one :
From the backyard you can see Charle and Oscar hangar. The white-house is situated at the end of Yamaska street (dead-end)
it gets its name from the river below it. If you like fishing, this is the house for you ! You can see it here on google map:

A small detour via the main street bridge and they arrived at the white-house.
" Oscar my friend, let me talk to the nice folks here, ok ? " said Charle
" OK, and Charle? You finaly lost your damn accent. I understand you much better now.. " said Oscar relieved
Charle noted: " Well look at that, they forgot a corner when they painted their house over ! "
Oscar replied: " Ya, the fence too, it could use a coat of paint !
Charle rang the doorbell. The door open :
Charle : " Morning Jerry, hey, did you noticed anything strange at our place this morning ? "
Jerry : " Nope "
Charle : " Nothing at all ? No loud noise ? Unusual movement or activity ? Nothing at all ?"
Jerry : " Nope "
Charle : " Ha ? "
Jerry : " Why ? "
Oscar : " We're missing a boxcar. Did it found its way in your backyard ? "
Jerry : " Hmmm ! Nope "
Charle : " Alright. Thanks Jerry "
Jerry : " Yup ! "
" Geeez, Jerry was in great shape this morning ! " said Charle
" Yes, he talked a lot ! " said Oscar
Our two characters returned to their car. As dumfounded as they were before

As soon as Oscar open the door of the car he said loudly :
“ Look ! It’s rust bucket ! That's it ! That’s what I couldn’t remember this morning ! "
Charle : “ To the hangar quickly ! “
Oscar : “ Did you see that ! It’s pulling a boxcar! I bet it’s ours !
and they left in a cloud of dust
Rust-Bucket
This local switcher is call "Rust-Bucket" by the locals. Why ? After many years of hard and loyal service, CN stop doing major overhaul on it. It got no new paint either.
Tired, with its old paint peeling, multiple oil stains and streaks, rust spot and exhaust soot on the hood and roof, this switcher looks ready to be put to pasture.
Even the cab windows are filthy with paint, scratches and years of cigarette smoke. Nevertheless this MLW S-3 never complains and is a reliable engine as ever.

Charle drove at speed to get to the hangar before, or at least at the same time, as the S-3.
He want to ask the crew if they knew anything about their missing boxcar.
As they were almost there, as Charle was about to park the car, another surprise was waiting for them.....

Charle screamed : " WHAT ? AGAIN ? This can't be !!! "
Oscar : " HOLLY COW ! "
Indeed !
They saw another Euro camper parked in front of their building ! Same name, same brand, same style as the other. It wasn’t there when they left. Enough was enough !
Charle : “ Is someone playing a joke on us ? “
Oscar: “ Can’t be. This doesn’t make sense ! “
What was going on ?
Where is the missing boxcar ?

No time to think or reflect
At about the same time as Charle had parked the car, a noticeable and distinctive Alco 251A 6 cylinder engine noise was in the air,
accompanied by thick black smoke making it’s way over the parking lot.
The MLW S-3 had arrived.
Charle was quick on his feet, barking his instruction to Oscar :
“ Oscar ? Go to the office see what’s going on, I’ll try to stop Rust-Bucket. “
“ …and Oscar ? It’s NOT our boxcar. “
The mystery thickens

Oscar disappeared inside the building while Charle walked over overgrown ballast and waved to the crew to stop .
Thankfully they did
Charle climbed the ladder to the cab and amongst cigarette smoke explained the situation quickly. Did they knew anything about the missing boxcar ?
“ A missing 40” boxcar ? Reporting mark CFSY something ? “ said the engineer ?
“ Yessss ! That’s it ! “ said Charle
“ Well we weren’t the crew who dropped the cars this morning. But we heard about a 40” boxcar with a broken knuckle in Montreal.
I guess it rolled to the harbour. Could be yours I guess. I dunno “ said the engineer.
“ HOooo ? A broken knuckle ? It’s sitting on the docks of the harbour ? “ said Charle surprised.
“ So you’re dropping this one off for us ? “ added Charle
“ Oh no ! It’s not ready. It's missing details, laders and such and neither is the weathering…....huuu.... I mean
it’s going to Montreal shop for overhaul. We are just dropping it off to be picked up by the westbound tonite. “ said the engineer .
“ Say what ? Never mind . Thanks for the info. I’ll call your office to have a replacement boxcar ship over asap. “ said Charle as
he turned to make his way back to the office.
“ You do so sir “ said the engineer and they slowly started again , lining up the switch to the right track.

Well I wonder what happen with Oscar and Charle. If they found the missing boxcar after all. I almost forgot about the Euro camper too.
Makes you wonder if there’s master-prankster around town or what.
I haven’t kept pace with the latest news lately. Things like scenery and such have kept me busy on the other side of …huuuuuu…the..layout.
I think it’s time to check in..
