Brag all you want, in fact brag a lot more. Your girl friend has got a lot of talent and she deserves recognition. 
I thinks she does great work. I wish some of the other great lady modelers that are members of big blue would become active once again. All of the gals make us guys try a little harder, but to be honest, I really enjoy being "out modeled" by the girls.
It's good for all of us.

Thanks guys! We've been asked to do short follow-up on her train room for a later issue, but our first priority right now is to finish our back yard summer project. We're replacing all the wood cladding on the south wall and building a new terrace with a pergola awning, hopefully we'll have a nice and covered area to sit and relax while operating our garden railroad by the end of the summer

After a long hiatus, it's time to revive this thread again. The idea is to keep it updated as construction progresses, and here's the first update from the 2016 Christmas vacation.
Vigdis has just started on a kit that's been stowed away for a long time; the Danby Sawmill from Keystone Locomotive Works (no relation to valleymodeltrains.com, they just had the best pics of this model that I found online for now):

Just like the Wolf Creek roundhouse (another thread), this is a so called Craftsman kit, mostly consisting of a bunch of wooden sticks, but in this kit the sticks are cut to the correct lenght and color coded, which makes assembly a little easier. Included in the kit are also a lot of cast details, a few "logs" and a bag of saw dust (!):

First, the materials need some staining, and she used her old recipe of isopropyl alcohol with some paint, before laying it all on a paper towel to dry:

The sawmill foundation is made of wood beams, built on top of the full size blueprints included with the kit:

There's no base in the kit, and the instructions suggest building the model in place on the layout, or on a small homasote base to be blended into the layout. Vigdis chose to build it on an XPS base, making it easy to shape the terrain around the building:

As the model is built right on the XPS base, it's a good idea getting the scenery below and around the building done while it is still accessible, and this is what Vigdis has been working on the past few days. In the last pic the glue is still wet, and there might be some changes, so this is a work in progress:
