WHAT GIVES:
This past week I have 561 points....Jesso has 561 points......Jesso gets a win....I get a loss.......something doesnt sound right here.
dwight77
Well, my driver DID win the race Tongue Just kidding. I looked it up.

From the NASCAR web site:

SCORING.
To determine league standings, teams are ranked by the total points from the drivers on their starting teams. The team with the most points is first and the team with the fewest points is last. During each race every team will play a match-up against a league opponent. The team with the highest score will score a win. In the event of a tie, the team with the highest cumulative points will win.

Points are awarded to drivers using the following formula:
Total Points = Qualifying Points + Sprint Cup Points

Qualifying Points are awarded to a driver based on his qualifying position where position 1 receives 43 points, Position 2 received 42 points, and so forth to Position 43 which receives 1 point. In the event that drivers do not qualify for a race due to weather or other circumstances and thus the starting order is determined by owner points, Qualifying Points still are awarded based on the starting order.

Points are accumulated weekly for all 4 starting drivers. Only Qualifying Points and Sprint Cup points from the listed races are used. A driver's Qualifying Points and Sprint Cup points are added to your team totals only during the week(s) that he is on your starting team.
Thanks! Smile I knew there was a tie-breaker somewhere in the rules.. Big Grin

Jesso:
If I add up your race points and your qualifying points you have 561 points.
If I add up my race points and my qualifying points I have 561 points.
How do they break that tie....if they are using total cululative points by adding qualifying points and race points in the race???
dwight77
They are using our total scores for the entire year.
LOL...makes it a bit more difficult to catch up.....but oh well....you have a great team.
I think next year, there should be a limit of six teams....not eight....it is almost impossible to find a decent swap for a driver with eight teams having a six driver roster. Thats 48 drivers right there....and there are not 48 good drivers...for sure.
You can have drivers on your team that are not racing and absolutely no reasonable driver to substitute for them. If you got a good selection at the beginning of the year, ....and believe me....Jesso ...you had a great selection......but for the rest of us.....we can't even find a good driver.....unless you want "Front Row" first out "Smoking Joe Nemechek"....UGGGGGGGG. I just looked that the available drivers.....of the 38 available......23 dont even have a car number.....and you would not want any of the others.
Another option....if they want to have 8 teams is to only have five drivers on a team.....4 plus one substitute. At least there would be someone to select as a decent alternative.
dwight77
Next year - if we get 8 players... I'll split the league into 2 separate leagues... I'll still be able to set the "grid" up with all 8 players, it's just that we'll all be better off Smile Smile Since there will be 2 of each driver to go around Smile Smile
