The box is closed and a layer of dull coat removed the reflexions of the windows. It is time for the details now.....

The usual Cornerstone fire escape  

There is an interesting structure in Paterson NJ . https://goo.gl/maps/fdkt1K99vJcgx8az7 . The walls are not as flat like modern concrete slab warehouses but the texture is very intense. The intense texture made me think about using the prototype to wallpaper a model.    

The key question is if the missing 3D elements are compensated by the prototypical texture harvested from Google street view..    
Anyhow a wall thickness of 5mm /  1/5" makes the window holes look like bunker. I am in the process to redo that part.  

That building looks so real I didn't even notice the windows until I read your post. WOW. I am always impressed, but this one is remarkable.

Thanks Charlie. Using prototype images is really impressive. I was very skeptical if this kind of structure is also suitable for the wallpapering method but it looks promising to me. I think it finds it limits when more windows are required like the building from last week. It took some time to find this almost windowless building.

Version 1.1 with thinner walls and some more details.

The appearance is very realistic...very nicely done!

The old concrete slab structure is the base of the low profile one level attachment at the rear of the prototype. I misuse it to make it a rail served structure. This images are not grabbed from Google but bought from Clever Models.  i will proceed with details and doing some ground work to get the building complex attached to the street without grass in the drive way.

Moved the building from ten days ago also to the road to form a north eastern industry canyon replacing the beautiful south eastern trees :-)

The very east end behind the cold storage had still two concrete slab buildings. I reducd the height to 6cm and 7cm, grabbed two old brick wall images from KC MO (a great source of brick!) and here we go. A layer dull coat will be applied tomorrow.

I learned on Flickr from Brent Bowen that all my concrete variations of the cold storage must fail because it is a white painted brick building. https://www.emporis.com/buildings/286518...kee-wi-usa . All the color variations are dirt and weathering.

Me and my rattle can had a cold time on an early Sunday morning on the chilly balcony ….



Some layers of wash with 10% vallejo 73301, 45% water and 45% alcohol. The alcohol is necessary to get a grip on the white paint.

Love that cold storage building.. Very impressive.
