  FS: Several Misc Structures
Posted by: nolatron - 06-15-2009, 07:14 AM - Forum: Swap Meet - No Replies

I posted several structures that have been collecting dust in my office on ebay to sell. These are buildings I picked up a while back, but eventually plans to use them got scraped.

  Dc throttles available?
Posted by: nomad - 06-14-2009, 10:08 PM - Forum: Engineer's Technical Workshop - Replies (41)

Over the last two months the NCE Powercab and the Bachmann EZ Command i had quit. I suspect my grandson got hold of the Powercab and used it as a hammer. The Bachmann I have no idea. And they are long out of warranty.
So, I am considering going back to dc permanently. I have an MRC Tech 4 260 but would like to have walk around to, but I can find nothing online.
Anybody know where I can find walk around throttles for dc? I run ho and the throttles would need to be rtr. I don't play with electronics, they bite back.
Thanks.

  Electrical issue-makes no sense
Posted by: foulrift - 06-14-2009, 02:02 PM - Forum: Engineer's Technical Workshop - Replies (23)

After I had laid all my track,(Atlas code 100 flex and Peco small radius turnouts)I installed the bus and feeder wires.I then tested the layout and everything ran real good. Now that the ballasting is done I deceided to test the layout again and to my suprise I have 3-4 dead tracks.
I checked everything out and there doesn't seem to be anything wrong.Anyone have any idea as to what might be happening? Does it matter how the bus wires are connected to the power pack? In my opinion this only effects which way forward and reverse are.It shouldn't effect power to the track.
Thanks for any help.

  C&O in West Virginia
Posted by: up_x3985 - 06-14-2009, 01:29 PM - Forum: HO Modeling - Replies (8)

Hi folks!

After a long search for C&O track plan from Handley, West Virgina I have no other idea as to ask you all! Is there anybody who can provide me with steam era track plans, building sheets and other informations about Handley W.Va. I want to built a huge sectional layout with the center of operations in Handley.
A request to COHS was without a response till now!
Hope you can help!!!!

Greetings from Bavaria!

  Walthers background buildings
Posted by: upnick - 06-14-2009, 01:14 PM - Forum: HO Modeling - Replies (2)

Hi guys,

As you may know i am using some of Walthers background buildings on the layout ..... best solution as its only 2ft wide .... though after placing one of them at the back of the layout the base of the building at rail height with a loco next to it on the rails sat on WS trackbed they look out of scale.

Do you think they are better placed on a wider layout .... to give a better perspective and 2ft is a bit narrow.

A way i have thought of is to have the buildings on a higher level thus decieving the eye with a road over the track with concrete supports the locos can run under.

Rough sketch here hopefully gives you the idea.

Have any of you had experiences similar ?
