The Hobo Camp Fire Is going well #X.. Stop In!!!
Greetings, gang.

Hazy, humid and 64 outside my window this morning. Mid 60s today then 9-s for the weekend. With the higher humidity I may turn the a/c today.

I found out yesterday that beginning this coming Monday Target will no longer accept checks. They claim it's because very few people use that "antiquated" method. My take is that they simply want people to use electronic methods to make it easier for them to track our purchases. End of grumpy old man rant.

Another parade to walk in tomorrow in support of my granddaughter who is running for county auditor. The parade starts at 10 so it should be over before the weather gets too hot.

All stay safe.

Good morning good people, yet another hot day is behind us, 115 yesterday, sameo-sameo for today, with a whopping 1% chance of rain. Not sure if that meant that it will rain in 1% of the county, or there's a 1% chance it will rain all over the county.

Charlie, I did get that ecoTank printer at Costco. I couldn't find if they had any in stock before I went there, usually their website will show local stock, but they had quite a few. I'm always concerned about parking and having to wait in a long line to check out, but my guardian angel was working overtime yesterday, found a parking space right outside the door, checkout lines were long when I got in, but really short (1 person) when I was ready to leave. I have my own router so I shouldn't have issues setting up the wireless, but it doesn't matter, I already have a USB cable for the printer it's replacing.

I spent a bit of time yesterday on my layout wiring. It looks like I have a bad relay for track power. It's been a while since I ran any trains so I guess it just gave up waiting. I'll change it out today, need to wire and ballast some track before I can start on my challenge.

Y'all have a great day, have fun, but stay safe...

Good morning folks

It is 74, on its way to 80. We have gotten a few showers this morning, but heavier stuff is on its way.

The kids are heading to England later today. My daughter is driving up the Jersey Turnpike to Newark for their flight. My wife has one of her online shows to sell purses. While she is doing that I can duck downstairs and work on the layout or run some trains.

The rest of the weekend is weather dependent. They are saying Saturday will be heavy rain and if that is the case we will be indoors. The wife says she wants to do something fun so that could mean going to a museum. Just need to figure one that will be easy for her to walk. We have some cleaning to do around the house and of course the infamous laundry. I am hoping to run some trains and work on the Bridges Area. I could also build a few car kits and tune up some rolling stock.

I hope everybody has a good day.

If the kids are in London, they might try Sir John Soane's museum
https://www.soane.org/

It's really interesting but small and most people haven't heard of it.
He taught architecture and it has a collection of interesting bits of buildings plus lots of art.
On the north side of Lincoln's Inn Fields, where the lawyers train.

Well, between the window A/C going bad and the Jeep needing work (front wheel spindle).....  I thought it was over....
Friday we noticed the 1 year old cat was struggling to breath, just breathing heavy.
SO since no one is open weekends, we wait till Monday.
The regular vet can't help with the tests, so we have to go to the emergency vet.
The tests and meds top off at $1,100.00 Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!! Angry Angry X-ays, and blood tests and the "vet office visit fee".

Today, I see her and she's fine, but we haven't given her any meds yet since we just got the scripts filled last night.
Unreal!!  But we're giving her the meds anyway.  Allergy meds and antibiotics for respiratory infection.
We're trying to cope by staying light-hearted.
She's only a year old, she still should be under warranty!!!  Smile  Smile

Greetings, gang.

Hazy skies and 71 with 96% humidity. Supposed to be in the 90s with heat index near or over 100. Same but warmer for tomorrow.

Yesterday was pretty quiet. Made a quick grocery run and stopped at the bank for some cash for my trip. A couple of neighbors have been notified that i will be gone. They have agreed to take a few pictures if they see flames. This morning I will be walking in another parade. Should be a short one as the town is only 10 blocks long. Tomorrow I'll be packing and making last minute preparations. Just a reminder I'll be gone starting Monday for 10-12 days.

All stay safe.

Good morning everyone, and a Happy Saturday to you  all. Yup, woke up early, but managed to go back and get nine hours in. I've been taking some meds for my allergies that have a warning, "if you have suicidal thoughts, call your doctor immediately"... Uh, no I don't, but I've been having some really weird dreams lately that I cam only attribute to that med.

We hit 116 yesterday, another new record, got all the way down to 91. It did rain a bit, all on the east side. We have I-17 running right through the center of town, Central Ave. though really defines east and west. "Streets" on the east, "Avenues" on the west. Now you know, just in case that comes up in your next trivia game. Icon_lol

Still working on my wiring problem, I think I have to replace the relay socket, the big issue is that I did all that wiring when I was a bit more agile and I could see everything clearer. Now it seems to be further away and harder to see. Wallbang

Tom, I hope you have a safe and an enjoyable trip.

Mikey, we did warn you.

That's it for now, I hope everyone has a peaceful day.

Good afternoon folks

It is 85 going up to 86. I have no idea what the weather is. or is going to be. They keep saying rain but we have not seen any.

Thanks David for the suggestion of Sir John Soane's museum. I sent the link to my daughter. She says it looks interesting.

Speaking of the kids they made it to London.

The wife and I are trying to figure what to do. We may just take a drive through Valley Forge National Park and maybe go out to dinner.

I ran trains last night until I had trouble with a couple of cars uncoupling. They were Athearn cars I had not converted the couplers. I changed the McHenry couplers to Kadee and added a screw to the coupler box clip. No more uncoupling.

That is why I went and got a full time job. That way I have time to rest.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Well, good afternoon.

For those that care it is 89 degrees and gas is 3.29.9 humidity is 43% so not all that bad but the sun in brutal.

I finished mowing the front yard which is over 1/2 acre, and I am done with the work for today.

We got some Faygo soda and they 12 pack is now an 8 pack but the same price. I also noticed the hot dogs are now diet, about 3 inches long. A pack of eight weighs 12 Oz but on the bright side they now fit the new diet buns.  When is this going to stop?

I wish everyone a great week end.

Charlie: I noticed the same thing with trains. They used to be O gauge but now they're N scale and you can hardly see them.

Agree, a pound of hot dogs now weight 12 oz. I just opened a pack of hot dog buns too, they also were hit with shrinkflation. Pay more, get less.

Happy National Nude Day, gang.

75 muggy degrees outside my window this morning headed for the low 90s with the heat index headed somewhat north of 100.

The parade went well yesterday and thankfully was quite short. We walked almost every street in town and the parade only lasted 20 minutes. Resting and fluid consumption when I git home. After lunch was laundry. Today's to-do lists includes packing, mowing, and hair cutting.

Good morning everyone, wow Tom, good thing your parade wasn't today, it could be just a tad on the embarrassing side if everyone had to comply with that. But fear not, it's also "National Mac and Cheese Day", and my favorite, "National Tape Measure Day".... really???

Temps down a bit, only hit 112 yesterday, still no rain even though the forecast shows a chance (1% to 16%) of rain everyday.

Going to be another busy week of appointments. I am determine to get my layout wiring issue resolved today, it's just in an area that's hard to reach and I need at least three hands and a massive spotlight to work on it.

That's it for now, I hope you all have a great day in spite of what's going on in the world...

Good morning

It is 76 degrees with 77% humidity here this morning and the cheapest gas is still the same as yesterday.

I finished mowing the front yard and will have to do the dog play area sometime today.  I have to be careful because the little girl is a digger.

I got 2 new locomotives yesterday and I am installing decoders. One is done except reinstalling the couplers, which could have been done last night but I did not have the right touch and decided it was best to let it go until this morning.

     Stay safe

Charlie
