The Jack on Tracks Build Blog/Vlog
#1
Well Hello!
Hey guys, I have a YouTube channel and I upload videos about twice a week too. I've been doing this for a little over a year, so there's a lot of content to catch up on. I'll post links to my previous builds below, and I'll start with the new build that's coming up.
Feel free to ask me any questions about why or how I did something, or if you have a trick that works for you on doing it.

Firstly, I want to express my gratitude for the kind words and support you all provided following my last video. It's astonishing to think that it was filmed back in August, and now, at the end of October, I'm nearing the completion of the studio/basement renovation. It's time to dive into my next project.

Now, regarding the Free-Mo build and its standards, I've made progress with the track plan and layout design. While I have most of the materials needed for the construction, a few items ordered from England are yet to arrive, which are currently the only delay in this build.

These are the free-mo standards

Preparing the wood, sizing and cutting the end plate, and installing the DCC Concepts Baseboard Alignment Dowels are the next steps. These dowels are precision-milled for a nearly airtight fit, ensuring perfect alignment with zero movement every time.

Now that we've made our cuts and placed the alignment dowels, it's time to build these frames and cut the tops. Let's dive into creating something great!

Okay, we've constructed the frame, trimmed the tops, and secured the cork base. Now, I'll demonstrate how to install this recessed top so that it's level with the endplates and sides.

Well, this was easier than I thought it would be, but it was still not easy. After a lot of thinking and measuring and scratching my head I came up with this design. It is pretty solid and pretty clean when it is folded up. Next video, I think we will be staining the module so stay tuned.

Despite the challenges with sound issues and video corruption, I managed to salvage a 16-minute segment of the video. I plan to create another video focusing on the feet and demonstrating how I attached the DCC CONCEPT Alignment Dowels.

So, this should be fun I have to line up the roadbed on 3 modules one at a time and get then all to line up perfectly. What could go wrong.

So I had to fix these legs before I can start the track work. Here was my quick and simple way I braced up these legs

Thank you all for the kind words during these difficult times.

I'm hoping to get back to a video a week and move forward with all these projects.
Next up is the track work in these Free-Mo modules.
