Greetings, gang.
35 and that's all the National Weather Service is allowing us to have today, even after their promise yesterday that today would be in the mid 40s.
I started the laundry yesterday but that got sidetracked when my daughter called. She got her phone etiquette from her mother - there's no such thing as a short phone call. An hour later I restarted the laundry chores. The afternoon was quiet and the play last night was really fun. Today looks to be rather quiet.
After Friday's spike in gas price to $3.19 it dropped to $3.06 as I was leaving town last night. When I returned 3 hours later it had dropped another 3 cents.
All stay safe.

I finally got my treadmill set up yesterday and managed to do a whole 400 feet. I know it isn't much but I can feel it this morning.
Hi Charlie,
Sometimes it takes so long just to feel like you're getting back to normal.
Hang in there.
Having a goal helps -- like getting to the train barn!

Hello Blue
Tom I avoided the late fee by paying the minimum with an electronic check, haven't got my next statement yet so I don't know how much interest will be charged.
Yesterday was our 66 anniversary. We met with our kids at Texas Roadhouse. It was busy so we had to split into 2 groups or wait a long time. Today is cloudy so far with storms in the forecast. A hi of 69 is expected.

Happy April Fools Day, gang
32 now headed for the mid to upper 40s with some light rain possible and winds near 40 mph.
Had a surprise when I got to the gym yesterday. Found out the pool director had passed away. Turns out she had esophageal cancer and chose to decline treatment. According to one of the staff no one knew she had it until 2 weeks ago.
SJ - under the "deposited acceptance rule" once the payment is turned over to the postal service it's considered as received. In theory there shouldn't be any late charges or interest. On the other hand is it worth it to fight the credit card company on it.
Gas price is back up to $3.29 and I saw one station at $3.39 yesterday.
All stay safe.

Well, the really bad parts of the storms missed us last night.
It's a chilly 42 today and supposed to be close to freezing tomorrow morning.
The weather guessers are saying 46 Thursday morning going up to 76.

Hello Blue
Yep April fool's day. Twas my sister's birthday, she sure got the jokes on this day.
We have sun this morning with threats of storms for tomorrow. Hi today just 41.
The trees are still bare, but our Lilic bush has signs of green. Grass is still brown but will green up soon.

Greetings, gang.
Cloudy and cool this morning after a thunderstorm and a half inch of rain overnight. Supposed to get to the upper 50s later on but quite breezy with winds over 40 mph.
Took a day off from the world yesterday. Didn't do anything other than read and watch movies. This morning I'll head to the gym. Got a text from my granddaughter last night. Soccer starts this weekend. Unfortunately the temperature is only supposed to get to 48 after an overnight low of 36. Gonna be chilly. The things we do for family.
All stay safe.

Greetings, gang.
Another cloudy and cool morning in the remote reaches of northern Iowa. 36 now going to the low 50s with only light winds so it should be much nicer than yesterday.
Bill paying day and then some shopping followed by maybe a trip to the gym. Another weird dream last night I was in Phoenix with my wife and tried to visit a girlfriend from high school (yeah, that's been more than a week ago). She very explicitly told me to never come see her again. Then the scene shifted to getting ready to drive home (in separate cars no less) but before I could leave I wound up somehow getting involved in a stage production. Then there was testing of a wireless mike versus a wired mike. Scene shift again: setting up tv's for the audience to view the production and the first one quit working so we magically got another one. While setting that one up my late son appeared and helped. Just downright goofy (and no drugs were involved).
All stay safe.

Cloudy and 63. Rained and stormed all day yesterday. We are OK but lots of flooding elsewhere.
Haircuts and Aldis this morning. Gas was $3.19. I called the credit card bank, and she removed the $38.00 interest fee but said they would only do it once. So to make sure my payments are made on time I will pay over the phone with an electronic check and skip USPS. I work 27 years at the post office and first-class mail use to get delivered in 2 days now it takes 2 weeks.

Good morning folks
Currently it is raining with a temperature of 63 with a high of 71. We had a nasty thunderstorm come rolling through just after 5 AM. The storm knocked down some trees on a couple of major roadways so traffic is messy in places.
Today is my last day on the Flat Rock Dam Project. The dam has about 8 weeks to go but I am moving to my next assignment which is the PA Turnpike widening project near Downingtown.
This past week was mundane as not much happened. I had my post op visit fr my back injection. Everything went well and I do not have to see them again until the pain comes back. This time I will not let get as bad as it did.
The weekend will depend on the weather. If it is nice then there will be yardwork and removing the remains of the gazebo. There may be some planting to be done also. I want to begin cleaning the car. I have not done a deep clean on the car because of working on the dam project. Doing so was a waste of time due to the dust and mud on the project site. If we are forced inside, then it will be some spring cleaning and the dreaded laundry.
If I work on the layout itself I have some track to paint and tack down. I could continue on working on the siding for the Golden Valley Canning and the area around the structure itself. If I feel like building structures I could work on the passenger platforms and/or the Trade Tower. I have a bunch of Accurail kits I can build. I have some rolling stock I can tune up and lastly and most importantly run some trains.
I hope everybody has a good day.

Good morning
It rained yesterday, heavy at times and drizzle/light rain all night long. The rain has ended here and it is 61°. Gas is 2.99. I remember gas at 18 cents but minimoon wage was 80 cents.
I had some noise in one of the Walthers heritage units I just got and after removing the shell I found dry gears.
I did manage to get one of my mowers started and ran it for 20 minutes so it is ready for the season. It needs a new deck and I hope this one works until I find one.
I am gaining strength daily but I still am pretty weak. My wife is able to walk several feet without a walker and she is able to use her phone and type with a stylus, but she still has limited feeling in her arms or legs.
Cheers and best wishes for a great week ahead.
Charlie

Greetings, gang.
Cloudy (again) and cool at 38. Maybe hit the low 50s later.
Routine day yesterday. Grocery shopping and the gym. Then dinner with a friend last night. Gym is the only item on the agenda for today. Tomorrow will be another story. Soccer for some of the great-grandkids in the morning and watching dance for some of the great-nieces in the afternoon and evening. Bad part about soccer tomorrow will be the weather. Low 40s and winds near 30 mph. My granddaughter will be helping to coach one of the teams so I'm elected to help keep an eye on the other two boys, one of whom is 5. I could be a little cold by the time the games are over.
Charlie - glad to hear you are both improving.
SJ - I did some looking and of the bills I pad in early March the quickest one took 8 days to get to a company here in town. The others took over two (and almost 3) weeks to arrive. I sent another check to the one company and it cleared the bank in 5 days. Sounds like there was a major postal glitch which caused the delays.
All stay safe.

Yes Tom postal service is at its worst. They have closed Distibution centers, cut moving mail by air. Billions of dollars in dept. I'm very glad to be out of there.
Showers and 50s for the day.
