Greetings, gang.
24 going to maybe the low to mid 30s after an overnight dusting of light snow. Not even enough to shovel (yay!). 40s and low 50s through mid week.
Yesterday started out routine with a quick trip to Walmart. On the way I noticed the price at the gouging gas station jumped from $2.27 to $2.69 I quickly made a detour and fortunately my preferred gas station was still at $2.27. By the time I came back to town after a basketball game everyone was at the higher price.
Apparently I got a little too close to one (or more) of the mobile germ factories (aka great-grandkids and their friends) and now have a lovely cold. Already had my first dose of Emergen-C. Hopefully I can avoid the worst of it. Gonna skip the great-grandson's birthday party. Lots of kids and elderly people there. I don't need to be spreading this around.
All stay safe.

Greetings, gang.
Lots of sunshine today with mild temperatures. 47 with light south winds. 50 for tomorrow then our very good friends at the National Weather Service have decreed that we need one of those nefarious fronts so tomorrow night the wind will shift to the north at around 30 mph, dropping the temperature to the low 20s for a few days.
Slowly recovering from my cold. I've been sleeping 8 and 9 hours a night along with naps during the day. This afternoon is the first of four out of five days this week with activities for the great-grandkids. Only day off is Wednesday.
All stay safe.

Greetings, gang.
It's currently 21 degrees under partly cloudy skies with a wind chill of 9. Quite a change from yesterday's high of 50. Even colder here by the weekend.
Very brief basketball game yesterday. Started at 4:15 and over by 4:50. Two more this week - Thursday and Friday. Also a band concert tomorrow morning at 8:15. In other news I discovered a broke tooth. After having some Cheezits I was trying to clean my gums and discover part of a tooth missing. Guess I'll be heading to a dentist for the first time in over 25 years. Without dental insurance this could get a little pricey.
Jim - glad to hear garage is now safe for year around work.
Gas holding at $2.69
All stay safe.

Hello Blue.
Thought I'd leave a few words. Temp is 36 but dropping thru the day. Then it will stay cold for way too long.
My wife got a JC Penny gift card. The local store is attached to a dying mall, so I took her there wanting her to use the card before they suddenly close.
Those of you that have been married know what happened. Yep, we came home with nothing. I was not in the mood to shop, she says.

15 degrees this morning in the remote reaches of northern Iowa. Supposed to get to around 35 with a slight chance for some flurries.
Started calling dentists yesterday for an appointment. Universally the first question was not "Are you in discomfort?" It was "Do you have insurance?"
Band concert at 8:15 this morning and the dentist appointment at 9:40. Basketball game late afternoon but attendance is up in the air depending on the dental appointment.
All stay safe.

It's a balmy -3 this morning with a wind chill of -23. Not the best day to be out and about. High is supposed to be near 20. Similar conditions for the remainder of the week.
It's been a long 9 days battling this cold. Friday was the worst day. I slept for 8 hours Thursday night. Then Friday morning I took a 3 hour nap. After lunch I took another two hour nap. Friday evening I missed the basketball game and of course it was one of the best of the season. Then Friday night I slept for 9 hours. Followed by a 90 minute nap on Saturday. Yesterday was the first day I felt well enough to day much of anything. Nothing planned for today. Basketball again tomorrow.
All stay safe.

A little warmer this morning at -1. Again trying for around 20 later on. Never quite made it yesterday. Close to 30 tomorrow then really cold (-18 or so) by the weekend.
Some neglected housekeeping this morning. Then my daughter stops by around noon to pick up some stuff. Another basketball game late this afternoon. Then quiet again til Thursday when the next game on the schedule rolls around. I will need to make a run to the bank at some point today also.
All stay safe.

Woke up to +1 degree this morning. High of 13 for the day. Brrr Tomorrow PM maybe 30, I will start and let the car run for a while as even colder temps are coming for the weekend. Normal hi is suppose to be 35. Darn global warming.
I got no news, we have stayed in playing free slots and word find puzzles.

Good evening folks
As Mikey said it is cold in these parts. I spent a good portion of the day driving around in it. When I had to get out and look at something I did so as quickly as possible.
We had to switch antibiotics to treat the UTI. The first ones were not doing the job. There has been a huge difference since I started the second antibiotic. I feel the best I have felt in some time which leads us to believe that this infection has been going on for some time. Because of the UTI we had to move my hernia surgery from yesterday to two weeks from now.
I have been assembling a bunch of rolling stock kits. Most of them have been hoppers and covered hoppers from Accurail. Since I am feeling better, I am hoping to get downstairs to the layout and run some trains. The first one will be the self-propelled track cleaning and vacuuming unit I recently acquired from TCS.
Hopefully this train running session will not be impacted by another heater repair.
I hope everybody has a good evening.

Greetings, gang.
Currently 18 degrees and the NWS has allowed us to possibly get above freezing this afternoon. It won't be all that nice as winds could hit near 40 mph. Then they jerk the rug out from under the thermometer. By Friday morning the temperature is supposed to be around -13 with a wind chill near -30.
Yesterday was quiet. My daughter and one of her sons showed up and we had a nice visit. Then late afternoon I went to a basketball game for one of the great-grandsons. His team won 40-19. This morning is a trip to a few stores to replenish the pantry before the weather turns ugly.
Gas was down to $2.42 last evening.
All stay safe.
