Atlas to buy Walthers locomotive tooling
Posted by: Brakie - 06-23-2018, 12:43 PM - Forum: N/Z and Smaller Modeling - Replies (1)

Atlas Model Railroad Company, Inc., and Wm. K. Walthers, Inc. have reached an agreement under which Atlas will purchase all N scale locomotive and rolling stock tooling owned by Walthers, including the Walthers N tooling as well as former Life-Like tooling. Atlas will incorporate this tooling into its Atlas Master, Atlas Classic, and Trainman N scale lines. Walthers will continue to offer N scale items in its Cornerstone, SceneMaster, and Walthers Controls brands, including new items as well as items currently in those lines.
-----------------------------------------

That does not surprise me at all seeing Walthers was never all that interested in  N scale. Sad

Atlas has excellent  N Scale track record so,I can't wait to see the drives under the EMD switchers.
Wonder if Atlas will release those beautiful 0-8-0,2-8-8-2  and 2-8-4s? Thumbsup

.Just finished reading the topics I was interested and and scrolled to the bottom.  Clicked the "Mark All Posts Read" link.  Page refreshed and showed ALL topics with green buttons.  I thought something was peculiar so I closed Firefox (current version), deleted cookies and cache, and logged back in.  Buttons all showing green.  When I go into an individual forum all the arrows show green.  Huh

Tom

PS - using Win10 with all current updates.

Sugar cane railways in Egypt oo9
Posted by: franckcombe - 06-19-2018, 03:01 AM - Forum: Layouts - Replies (14)

Hello,

My Sidi Fontana layout is nearly finished so it's time for me to create a new one.

I want to reproduce a Sugar cane railways in Egypt at oo9 scale. It's a real 2 feet gauge built by french and english in 19 th century and still used today. The train is used for 50 %  of the cane sugar in Egypt.

Two links on youtube

https://youtu.be/_AlkUOPyaNE

https://youtu.be/2hSj3oWkZBI
.

I will reproduce a part of a sugar cane refinery near luxor with his harbour and crane. The locomotives and the rolling stock don't exist and my friend Jean-Pierre Duval will do this with 3d printings.

This is the  mock up
