I've been a bit irritated by the amount of leafy refuse that's been falling off my trees and shrubs and ending up on the roads of White Haven.  I thought about buying a hobby vac, but never ran into one that I thought was work the expenditure and still has the ability to extend into arm-deep scenery.

What I really decided I wanted was the power of my shop vac with a small, semi-rigid snout that I could extend.  Rummaged through my workshop and found some discarded water supply line.  Stuck it in the Shop Vac, applied the painter's tape.  Tried it out, and works like a charm.

   

Was able to grab a shot of WPMA-29 on a different section of Lubbers Run.

I just dug out a couple of old E&B Valley coach kits. I can sort of tell how old by the name of the hobby shop.
They're both painted CNR green and black. It's a really good looking finish.
However, one is a 4-4-2 sleeper and the other is a 56-seat coach.  As far as I can tell, CN never had either.
I am looking for suggestions for a name for the sleeper and a number for the coach. I would like both to be fictitious. The coach looks as if it would be comfortable in the 5400 series, but I wouldn't want to put a real number on it. 

Construction is going slowly. It must have been started between 30 and 40 years ago and some of the glue joints have separated (only the trucks were done) and one of the floors is bent.

I can't post pictures as the computer won't talk to the SD chip.

Great news at the Bowyer GERN Mine---a recent order for 3% more flux product will create more jobs and add a third shift for the plant.As a result a second locomotive will be required to move the continuous activity in the yard.The Leetown Division provides the power for this operation and has assigned recently outshopped 018A #7470 to assist P5 #8382 to handle the action.

   

   

Some may have remembered my Hemsley diorama restoration project that I did awhile back. That diorama was part of another modeller's layout who had passed away. 
Now I have been given another part of that layout, his centerpiece trestle:
     

It was removed from his layout pretty much intact but was in storage for a couple years. a number of glue joints have come undone so I'll have to do some repairs. The larger job is to make a base/cradle for it to rest in. 
I don't have the room on my layout to install it and it would almost be a crime to cut it down to make it fit.

Let preface this discussion by saying I have just built a fairly large
double deck layout in HO scale,...and utilized almost exclusively Peco
turnouts, which I consider to be some of the best commercial ones available.

Unfortunately I am a little dismayed when I have to shim and fiddle with
them to try to improve their tendencies to 'pick-a-point',... or drop locos
and cars into the chasms of the gap at the frog points.

I also like to operate both American product, and some foreign engines that
have slightly greater flange sizes.

Does anyone make, or try to make a 'gapless frog' turnout??
