new type of Narrow Gauge Boxcab Diesel
Posted by: Mileswestern - 03-19-2009, 01:57 AM - Forum: HO Modeling - Replies (15)

I thought you guys would get a kick out of this.

Here's my latest project, a narrow gauge Boxcab Diesel. The superdetailed MDC shell sits on a widened Kato GP7 Chassis. The shell was slightly modified to accept the lowered pilot endbeams.

This was for a client of mine and the "Devils Gulch & Helengon" apparently is an old John Allen name?

If you want to learn more about it, or have one built for yourself, visit: http://www.weatheringman.com/Boxcab.html

Posted by: Trucklover - 03-18-2009, 12:54 PM - Forum: Shutterbug area - Replies (6)

Hi Guys,

I spent the better part of 6 hours (3 hours last night, 3 hours this morning) shooting a HUGE BNSF Mixed Freight Train. On point is a BNSF SD70MAC #9955, followed by BNSF SD70MAC #9929, then BNSF SD75I #8277, and then BNSF SD70MAC #9897. There are 108 mixed Freight Cars after the 4 engines, then a BNSF AC4400CW #5624 and lastly a BNSF SD70MAC #9482.

**BEWARE, THIS PAGE IS EXTREMELY PHOTO INTENSE AND HAS 112 PICTURES TO LOAD, IT WILL TAKE A WHILE**

Without Further ado, here is the roll-by:

 GP9 roof details

Anyone know what the solver boxes are on the roof of this geep just ahead of the dynamic brake?

http://www.trainnet.org/Libraries/Lib005/PD_35.GIF

My first thought was some kind of extra air filter, considering this is a mining locomotive.

Hi All:
Has anyone made any purchases from UPbids.net ????
They look to be fairly new and I was most specifically interested in some of the "people" they have.
Any input would be appreciated.
I am also placing this thread in the "Swap Meet"; I hope this is ok.

 King Midas Flour Mill
Posted by: Trucklover - 03-17-2009, 06:35 PM - Forum: Swap Meet - Replies (10)

Hi Guys, i have the following structure for sale. Newly built and out of the paint shop. This is a Walthers Cornerstone Series ADM Grain Elevator with an extra 8 silos added on to create a longer silo structure. It is lettered for King Midas Flour.

The main structure was painted white with gray doors and rooftop machinery. The silos have been also sprayed gray and the conveyor housing is white.

The silos structure has a front and a back, by this i mean, how it shows in the pic is how the front must face with the other side facing a wall. This was not one of my better builds on the Walthers Silos. Because i took silos from other projects to create this, it meant that the parts did not fit together perfectly like a new kit, this meant i had to make one good side, so i did my best and it came out just okay. but the silos have to be positioned with the side with the sign facing out and cannot be turned around. I would not suggest putting this structure where you are going to be able to see the back of the silo structure to much, just because it is pretty poor construction.... See the pictures below, the one with an overhead shows some of the poor construction on the back side of the silo structure....

Other then what i just described above, this elevator is pretty well built, and i even sanded down any glue marks that may have oozed out and then repainted the areas.... All in all, im happy with this structure and i wish i could keep it but i dont have a use for it lol

If your interested, please post here or PM me. The price is set at $44.95 plus shipping. Shipping might get a little expensive, but im thinking that it will not be more then $20 to ship it across the US in a big enough box packed carefully. Im offering this to forum members first, if i dont get any interest in it from someone, ill post it on e-bay in a few days.....

Here are some pics:
