Same location Aug 1999

Bruce
The one Ed posted was a C-636, and here's an M-630 at the same locale (Oct. 2008):

They seem to like Alcos, with what appears to be an RS-11, an M-420, and an RS-32 all in the same drag with the first two:

Here's a ROSTER, although it doesn't show the same RS-11.

Wayne
DocWayne, what and who are those gray and white locos?

Now I must step in and post one myself....

May 2006, where else but the ol' Mykawa yard? Found this on an old floppy disk when I was formatting a bunch of stuff tonight.

Going off of Wayne's photo, The Winchester and Western's shop in Bridgeton, NJ painted this RS 11 for the Maine Coast RR, seen here at the Conrail yard in Millville, NJ. I neglected to record the date.

Bruce
Gary, all of the locos in those photos are at the Genesee Valley Transportation Company's shops in Scranton, Pa., right next door to Steamtown. They run on the Delaware & Lackawanna, one of the roads operated by GVT.

By the way, welcome to the "Photography Game" where each picture is somehow related to the one preceding it. For instance, if someone posts a picture of CSX GP38-2 #2685, then the next poster (whoever is quickest) may post a picture showing anything CSX (locos, freight cars, truck, buildings, etc.) or any GP38-2 or anything numbered 2685 (loco, freight car, etc. from any road). I broke the rules by posting more than one picture at a time, too, but it's okay as I've punished myself by going all the way upstairs to get a cold drink and have also promised to behave myself. Goldth
Since you're new here, we'll leave your picture of the EMD demonstrator in place, as Bruce has already carried on with another Alco. We trust that you will endeavour to behave yourself in the future, though, and that there will be no more wanton flouting of the rules. Misngth Icon_lol Misngth Icon_lol Misngth

Just to clarify.....Will flouting of the rules be allowed as long as it's not done in a wanton manner..??
I can do that..... Goldth
Well, we have really stretched the rules to include (unofficially) any ALCO to supersede any ALCO, but I assume they are given Steam status anyway.
(we have been letting any steam locomotive follow any steam locomotive).
Charlie
Oops.... I thought that any loco could be followed by any other loco. Didn't know it had to be specific. That makes it tough on me, for I am not really up on the identifying characteristics of a GP38 versus a GP40 and such! 35

What about boxcars? Any boxcar can be followed by any boxcar? Or has to be type specific? Wink
Gary, any box car can follow a box car, hopper car can follow hopper car etc. Not too type specific on the freight cars, and if you google the locomotive road name and number you can usually find out the type. I often have to cheat that way. Goldth

In Wayne's last photo there is a RS 11 in the consist, isn't it OK to go off one of the subjects in the photo?

Bruce
Actually we started with the major subject, but if it increases participation, I'm all for playing off something else in the picture as long as it is prominent too.
Now I wouldn't object to a different subject at the same location either. I didn't start the game over here, Tom brought it up, so I guess he is the official referee here. There is no prize to this game, it is just a good way to see lots of pictures that have never been seen before. I have lots of photos. I post them to share them on the gauge. Years ago I remember how I enjoyed seeing pictures in private collections of things that were gone and I hope everyone here feels the same about the photos we older folks share. Some of our pictures are not of high enough quality to be printed in magazines, but they are still something I feel should be shared.
Charlie
Hi Charlie---I have to say this is one of my favourite threads primarily because of the variety and quality of pictures that have been submitted by everyone. As you have pointed out, there are no prizes involved and any rules are meant as guidelines only.I hope no-one feels offended and will continue to submit their pictures on an on-going regular basis---now who's turn is it to submit a picture train train train

Whoo-eee! A Main coast RS11? This might offer a challenge for follow up. I'm a bit shy on RS11's and anything Main coast. Smile
Ralph
Do you have anything with 367 on it?

Bruce
Let me get my decal sheet! Smile
