Hello Blue
Cloudy, a new inch of snow this morning. as usual, all the old snow had melted. 22/27 for today.
A friend is working on a train model but ran into trouble when the Micro Scale decal fell apart. The project is half done but the decal is out of stock.
I told him two things. Call them and see if they have something else that might work. #2 before using, clearcoat the decal sheet if it is old.

Good Morning

31 degrees headed for 33 with pockets of freezing rain or snow still possible.

I went for the oil change yesterday and I had to settle for the 29.95 version for synthetic oil.  They told me that up front because they no longer sell anything else.  Checking on line prices for 5 quarts of synthetic I see the range between 22.95 to 39.95 and that is not installed Adding the cost of the filter I was figuring I couldn't crawl under it and do it myself. I went to the customer lounge and had a couple good hot dogs and prepared for the upsell to arrive.  After 45 minutes with nothing I figured I was going to get hammered  but 5 minutes later the lady service writer came in, handed me the keys and said it was all done. She explained there was a 3 dollar disposal fee which was OK so with tax the total bill was 36 bucks. They had checked everything and gave me a detailed report of the condition of the car, topped off all the fluids, checked the brakes and suspension and when I got to the car the real surprise was a free wash job and interior vacuum and they even had washed the windows on the inside.  I don't know if I mentioned it but 6 months ago they told me I would need $300 worth of front brakes and a cabin filter this time so I actually bought pads for my son to install but he said the lining was at 85%. (I also noticed that the staff from the previous visit was missing)  Anyhow, I was very happy on the drive home.

It was a tough day at the stock market yesterday but GERN was a winner closing at 1.14. It's down to 1.085 this morning.

My cousin showed up with another 4000 slides to scan for the historical society as well as 50 prints taken of action by the fire department in old fires in the city.  I might just do the prints today to avoid going out in this weather.

Prayers for a quick settlement to the fighting going on overseas. The last thing the world needs now is more unrest.

           Cheers
           Charlie
Tompm: You have me worried. 11 cm is over 4" and I don't think it could be that far out. Is it 11mm? (about 3 HO feet)

We had overnight snow but it was well gone by early afternoon.
I had a job fixing a door latch. The door to the garage was catching as the handle was turned. I swapped it with a door in the basement that we don't use. Then I went after a new latch. The first one I bought (latches are available seprately!) had a different mechanism from the square rod type. I found the right one yesterday but it didn't fit the slot in the door. Today I bought 4 chisels (one set was on cheap) and expanded the slot. everything went together smoothly. My old chisel (singular) was bought in the late 70s the last time I felt a need to hang a door. I proved I could do it and didn't need to do it again.
Good morning everyone, temps rising, high 60's today, they now say it'll get to 80 by Monday, which is good since we're going target shooting that day. Today is the big gun show at the Phoenix fairgrounds. Don't know why I'm going other than my youngest said he had free tickets and wanted me and Pat to join him. Big show, I'll have trouble walking it, spent a good part of yesterday on my feet helping the drywall guy. Nice guy, did a good job, but grumbled at everything.  65 years old and was lifting half sheets of drywall up to the ceiling. He said this was his last ceiling job, "getting too old for this crap", I know where he's coming from, but he took the job and should not have needed  the help of someone of my age. Still needs to come back to paint, so my layout is draped and I still can't get to my workbenches.

Hope everyone has a fun and safe day today, prayers for all the folks in the Ukraine and for some common sense for those responsible for these attacks.
Hello Blue
Where is everybody?
Oh well, I'll just go with the weather for today.
Sun and 43 degrees.
S.J.
Good afternoon, have been busy getting ready for target shooting tomorrow. Beautiful day out, even better tomorrow.

Went to the gun show yesterday, I couldn't even estimate how many guns and people were there, but it's in the tens of thousands for sure. Took 2 1/2 hours to make the rounds and we only hit about 80% of the tables. Think going to Costco and walking the entire store tens times. I did get a magazine for a gun I bought about a month ago, just didn't see many bargains. Just like a train show, everyone wants top dollar and thinks what they have is worth more than retail.

My ceiling looks good, just needs a coat of paint, they guy is suppose to come back sometime this week.  I have the paint. Got about 40 square feet of insulation left if anyone wants it, just come by and pick it up.

Everyone have a great day, prayers for this innocent folks in the Ukraine
Greetings, gang.

Sunny and 43 this afternoon and even warmer for the next few days.

Back from grandson's final regular season hockey tournament. He got an assist in yesterday's 4-1 victory and played well in today's 6-2 defeat. This coming weekend will be his final state hockey tournament. My only plans for the week are to get laundry caught up and get ready to leave on Thursday for the hockey tournament.

All stay safe.

Tom
Good morning all, just a quickie today, got to load the truck to go target shooting in a few minutes. We usually leave before it's light out, stop at the truck stop for breakfast and it's around 8:00 when we get there. Today's high should be around 82, so it gets hot quickly.

Still can't get to my workbenches but I can start my challenge on the computer. I usually do a scratchbuild sketching it out in CAD, sometimes I use that as a template, sometimes just to see how things will fit and look.

Well, gotta go, I hope everyone has a good day, stay warm and safe....
Good morning all
29 degrees here, headed for 39 and no moisture in the sky today.

Did a few scans over the weekend and not much else.

Prayers for peace instead of the turmoil we have going on.

Charlie
hi all . well its Monday again , did some work on the layout yesterday more planned for to day , wife has been working out side on her vision of what yard should look like (more work for me ) .
all keep safe and sane .
Jim
Good afternoon folks

It is 37 heading to 39.

Had a frustrating day. We went to the county Passport Office to renew our passports. Found out they don't do renewals and since our passports were issued less than 15 years ago we have to do renewals or at least my wife does. I have to do an in person application since I cannot find my old passport. I thought I had all my forms but apparently my birth certificate is too old since it does not have my parents names on it. I ordered a new birth certificate.

Over the weekend I got the track on the coal trestle ramp and near the coal yard weathered and ballasted. I added coal, gravel, and sand piles under the coal trestle. I reweathered the track I had done before. I thought the rails looked too rusty. I added the walls behind the coal trestle and added some foam behind the walls to provide support for the walls since they are on the edge of the layout.

Going to take my wife to get her passport photos later today.

My mistake it was 11 mm.

I hope everybody has a good day.
11 mm is still going to be very sore.
Happy birthday to Yellowstone National Park, gang.

Yellowstone park, our nation's oldest national park, is 150 years old today.

It's a cloudy 36 outside my window this morning headed for sunny and 63, the same as yesterday.

With the nice weather yesterday I considered getting the bike out for my first ride of the season and that temptation is still there today with the ongoing mild weather. Got the laundry caught up yesterday and I did go for a nice walk. Also washed the car in the driveway. I still need to take it to a car was to get the salt off the underside and the wheel wells. Maybe today. Also maybe going to go to the gym this morning.

All stay safe.

Tom
