Goodness. 37 night owls browsing this forum ??? I guess there's a lot of international traffic??
Greetings, gang.

The wind and temperature are going to have a contest today to see which is higher. So far the predictions a high of 48 with wind speed at 44 so it's gonna be a hang on to your toupee kind of day.

Had a decent swim yesterday and the a brief chat with the life guard. Later on I took a 3 mile bike ride to verify that the automated speeding ticket dispenser were in fact not where the police department's web site said they were. An appropriate e-mail has been sent.

Gas price has dropped from $3.39 last week to $3.18 when I was out and about yesterday.

All stay safe.

Tom
Good Morning All,

Well it's been raining since yesterday here in the western part of PA. All the creeks are high and pushing the limits of the banks. I drove my soon to be step daughter to school this morning to check the roads and everything. Well the roads are pretty well flooded as the drainage along one of the main roads out of town are really flooding. Only reason I wanted to check was because I have to take the fiance to therapy in a couple hours and if the rain doesn't stop, we have to go the other way out of town.

I did order paint stripper so I can move forward and strip two engines. I did get another C&I caboose in the mail yesterday but with the rain I won't be able to paint outside just yet lol. So today I will remove the decals off the caboose and get it ready for paint. Other than that, I have nothing else really planned for today. Hope you all have a great day and stay dry if it's raining where you are.
Good afternoon all. I'm a bit late posting but I was busy figuring out how I was going to spend all that money that woman said I won. Yup, $5,000,000 plus $5,000 a week for life from the Publishers Clearing House sweepstakes. I got so excited that I forgot to write down my claim # and the phone number that I was suppose to call to claim my prize. That's OK, I'm sure they'll call back in a few months with another winning prize for a sweepstakes that I never entered. Waiting Just one question, why can't the government with all their power, shut these people down?

Gas is up once again, more stations are above $4.00 now. You can also expect eggs to hit $5.00 a dozen soon since one of the largest egg producers in the US had to shut down because of that avian flu thing. It's getting so bad now, I'll just go spend what they're asking and when I run out of money, go to the federal reserve and refill my empty coffers.

Take care my friends and have a fun day...
We're all anticipating the eclipse on Monday...  My house won't be in totality but I sponsored my granddaughter and family with gas money to help them travel. Our gas right now is $2.88, hope it will stay down a while.  Be nice if the weather cooperates for them around Jonesboro, Arkansas. JJ's only 12, but, she may never get another chance! Stormy here in Memphis last night, power flickered only a little! Goldth
Cid: I'm waiting here in PA too - Not total, but it will be the 4th Solar Eclipse I've witnessed Smile

Greeting, gang.

Well, the temperature won yesterday's contest with the wind to see which would be higher. The temperature got to 50 but the wind only hit 41. Today's high guessed to be in the upper 40s again with winds only up to about 30 mph.

My landline saga is finally over. I got a final bill from the phone company cancelling out last months bill but even though I canceled the service before the end of the billing period they seemed to think I owed them $1.82. Rather than spend a half hour to 45 minutes on the phone I just sent them a check to make it all go away. Also got the refund from the cable company. $45 which will maybe get me a meal at McDonalds.

Sporting events begin for the great-grandkids today. Soccer for the youngest at 6 this evening. I counted 18 days of activities during the month of April. The boys' mom is somewhat of a wonder woman. Managing that madhouse while working full time and also running for county auditor. All this while her husband is an over the road trucker. A very talented young lady.

Mikey - congratulations on the retirement. Glad you made it out alive!

Gas was down another 4 cents yesterday to $3.14

All stay safe.

Tom
Good morning, nice day yesterday, we hit 83, today some say we could reach 90 for the first time this year. Big change tomorrow, temps in the mid-60's and a possibility of another storm coming though. None of the weather guessers are on the same page though so it's anyone's guess if we'll see any rain or not.

As for gas, Costco and Sam's are lowest in our area at $3.64, most stations now at $4.00 or higher. Stay off of I-17 if you need gas, one station in New River is at $4.81, several others are $4.19.

Not much going on, the cleaning lady shows up today and I have an early morning appointment but nothing else but a few phone calls. Need to take money out of my IRA's before the IRS penalizes me. I did forget one year and the penalty is 50% of what you should have taken out, but that year there were some kind hearts and they said even though I was late, they just slapped my wrist and said not to do that again.

So, do something fun today and try to stay out of trouble, or at least, not get caught.... Icon_rolleyes
Good afternoon

We have lots of water in our area and it is raining a little bit right now. Local creeks and the Ohio
river are at flood stage.

I am removing duplicate photos so I can make disks for family members, a long project and for the most part it will be a waste of time because the oung ones don't care about history with a few exceptions, and it is those exceptions that make it worth doing.

Tom B.  Many years ago I paid off a loan on the day I received the monthly statement. The next month, I got a bill for $1.67 and when I called to complain I was told it was for the interest between the time I mailed the check and them receiving it. I wrote them a check for $2.10 to cover any interest charge here. They mailed me a check for 43 cents saying there was no more interest due.  I waited 180 days to cash that check. When I left cable 6 months ago I was surprised they did not charge me an early termination fee and gave me a refund too. I am getting emails offering me the same service I had for 25 bucks a month for 2 years.  I will not go back to them and their silly pricing games. I am very happy with the speed and reliability of T-Mobile for cell phone and internet.

Praying everyone stays well and prayers for all in need.

Ahh yes, a few years ago I don't recall why, but I had to put back money in one of my IRA's and I put too much so they had to send me a check. The form I had to fill out asked for how much I wanted back and how much interest I wanted. I called them and the guy that answered said, "just put down a penny", so you can guess, they sent me two checks, one for the refund and one for....one cent.... I still have that check pasted on my bulletin board. I'm sure that is still causing all sorts of chaos in their accounting dept.

Mikey!  Big Congrats on your retirement!!!  I just hung it up back in January!
I haven't quite adjusted to it schedule wise, but the relief of stress has seemed almost miraculous! Goldth Big Grin
We were fortunate to catch the last eclipse; the traffic on the way home has dissuaded us from driving up to
Jonesboro for this one.
Greetings, gang.

Clear and 29 going to supposedly clear and 59. We shall see.

Had fun at the great-grandson's soccer game yesterday. He's 5 so it was more like herding cats. Lots of laughter. During the game I mentioned that I was planning to take a trip in the second half of June for about 10 days. She told me I couldn't go because her mom was going to be gone during that same tome and I'm the back-up baby sitter. I guess I'm going on vacation in July. Mikey - see what you have to look forward to now that you are retired. And you thought your time would be your own now.

No major activities planned for today other than some grocery shopping. Tomorrow there is soccer in one town and then after lunch there is baseball in another town 45 away. I may wind up feeding the ravening horde for lunch. Could be fun.

Gas was down another 8 cents yesterday to $3.06. I quickly filled up before it got any lower.

All stay safe.

Tom
Good morning all, another weekend is upon us and the gas gougers won't take a day off. Gas jumped up to $4.09-4.29. Temps are wild, yesterday it hit 89, today is suppose to top out at 64. We're out of control...

Yesterday, I called to redeem my credit card points which were over $300. Absolute mind boggling, I had to listen to three minutes of account balances and other data then talk to a customer service rep who had to turn me over to a point redeeming specialist after being on hold for a long while. The specialist gave me her direct number so I didn't have to go through all this, but why not just print that number on the back of the bill where they have all that other legalize? I have other cards I could use, but this one gives me double points although I didn't cash them in for a few years until I just realized just how much I had accumulated.

Y'all have a peaceful weekend, try not to overdo it, but do enjoy what you do.
Thanks for all the well wishes Smile Smile
CID: I'm still in the mode "thinking" of outstanding things I left, but then it hits me that I don't have to worry about it anymore Smile
