Greetings, gang.

Cloudy (still) and 40 headed for more clouds and the upper 40s. The rain that started Monday afternoon has ended for now with about an inch. More rain possible for Friday night.

Good workout at the gym with some spectacular visual entertainment. Did some house cleaning yesterday afternoon then sat on the front porch. Swimming at the gym this morning and probably a walk this afternoon. Also need to pick up some more Corona (not the virus). Gas price jumped 15 cents yesterday. $2.79 now.

All stay safe.

Cheese toast and coffee. 57 and raining. Got to drive Wifey's boss to get a table [if it can be transported in the rain].  Nice to see more posting.  Remember when it was mainly Don, Tom and myself posting everyday.
Good morning all, yeah it is nice to see more folks posting, not only here, but overall. We have a new challenge going, and we've got about eight participants say they'll enter. Maybe the days of the forum aren't behind us as some say.

Bad night sleeping, need to see the doctor, not healing very well from my recent surgery. Got an appointment at noon, so let's hope he can fix whatever isn't right. In the meantime, I'm just going to rest on a block of ice.
Good morning folks

It is a chilly rainy 52 heading up to 56.

Hope you are doing better Don after your visit.

Wife got her second Covid shot this morning. I go for my shot tomorrow.

Worked on weathering the coaling tower. Helped the wife with planting and placing the window boxes.

Today we are going to try to take it easy. Put up some Easter decorations. Work on the coaling tower and/or the layout. My CNJ Baldwin DR4-4-1500 “Babyface” A and B units kits arrived from the Anthracite Railroads Historical Society. I now have at least five locomotive projects for the future, the Babyfaces, GP-38’s to PRSL, and a GE 44 Tonner to NYO&W.

I hope everybody has a good day.
56 and cloudy or foggy. 20% chance of wetness.

Getting ready to start Human Services Board meeting. Followed immediately Veterans' Task Force. Dr. at 1:30 [finally].

Enjoy your day.
Greetings, gang.

Still cloudy and 40 in the remote reaches of northern Iowa this morning. Yesterday's high was supposed to be near 50 but barely made it to 41. I just read an article the other day about how the National Weather Service has started using a new model that was supposed to be so much more accurate than the previous version. More government money down the drain. Today's high is supposed to be 51. We shall see.

Trip to the gym was routine. Afterwards I made a trip to Walmart for some Corona (not the virus). Morphy Oil (Walmart's gas station) had gas for 20 cents less than anywhere else in town. Filled my car and should have filled my son's car but didn't. After lunch I spent about 3 hours on my son's Iowa taxes. Most of that time was consumed trying to find the right software mix to get everything to work. The Iowa website said down loading worked best with Internet Explorer and the form was only visible using Adobe Acrobat. Talk about antiquated. I also found an old firewall on the machine I was using. Had to uninstall that and set my browser and pdf defaults to IE and Adobe to get everything to work properly. Once the taxes are done I'll switch back. Nothing major planned for today.

All stay safe.

And another good morning to ya all. Not much going on here, temps a bit cooler for a few more days, slight chance of rain, but I don't give it too much hope. Got nothing on the schedule for the next few days, going to head out for some target shooting on Monday, then a few appointments during the week. Got to renew my truck registration. I really don't know why our roads are in such bad shape, we pay taxes every time we fill up, and once a year when we register. For my one-year old truck, we're talking almost $700 in taxes and fees for one year. Taxes decrease as your vehicle gets older, but the fees remain the same. As for taxes at the pump, Arizona gets close to 20 cents a gallon, the feds get just over 18 cents. That should be enough to fill every pothole in the country. Well, I've spread enough joy here during income tax season.

Did see the doctor yesterday, all is going according to plan, I guess I'm suppose to hurt this much for a while, "that's what it's suppose to do", says he.... So I'll just relax for a few more days, even though I have the OK to, "return to normal". The doctor wasn't doing much better though, limping around from a skiing accident. That's why I doing go skiing, too cold, too slippery.

Have a great day, stay warm and stay safe.
Good morning. I just dropped by to say hello and keep ya'll honest.  I took the day yesterday to make some DVD's for a friend and it did take the whole day, but finally one job done, now I have to put a disk together for my cousin that lives in Tucson but I will wait for a rainy day for that. I am hoping to do some work in the train barn today.

68 and rainy [not right now]. Thunder at 4:15.

Off to deliver food boxes to mobile home parks.

Then eat at steak house later this afternoon.
Good morning, just a quickie, slept a bit too long this morning, talked to a number of people that have had their second shot and they say the same thing, very tired. I felt like the energy was sucked out of me for two weeks. Got to be your body thinking it's fighting Covid-19.

Suppose to rain today, decent chance, temps in the low 60's, pretty close to freezing since we should be a lot higher normally. Not to worry, we should be in the 90's by this time next week.

Working on my display case, started on the doors, close to being done. Been using a lot of MDF and that stuff gets really messy quickly when cutting it. Just a fine powered that gets into everything and is hard to sweep up. But, the cost of solid wood, and even plywood has gone through the roof.

Ya all have a great day, and stay out of those tornadoes if you can.
Greetings, gang.

Cloudy and 40 outside my window this morning. The high for today is supposed to be in the mid 50s with a 90% chance of rain overnight tonight.

Still struggling with my son's Iowa income tax. Looks like the main form is filled out but I can't find anything saying what (if any) additional forms need to be sent in. Oh, well. I still have over a month yet to figure it out. Swimming this morning and maybe a bike ride this afternoon.

All stay safe.

Tom
Good morning folks

It is a humid 62 heading to 75. There is the possibility of some storms and we are under a Wind Advisory. Could be an interesting weather day.

The wife got her second shot on Wednesday and I got my shot yesterday. Other than a sore arm she is feeling tired. Thus far I have a sore arm. The drive to Levittown was hell yesterday. The quickest and easiest route, I-476 or as it is called around here “The Blue Route,” was fouled up due to an accident and construction. The major alternates were not much better, so I had to bushwhack my way to the PA Turnpike. What should have been a 50-minute drive took close to an hour and a half. Amazingly I arrived at the Rite Aid only 10 minutes late. I walked in found nobody waiting in line. They had my paperwork, and I had my shot in less than 5 minutes.

No modeling the past few days. I am hoping to finish weathering the coaling tower. Then it is either start the engine house or do some trackwork. It will all depend on if I have any side effects and how bad.

I need to run to the produce store, drop off some mail, and pick up online orders at Kohl’s and Lowes.

I hope everybody has a good day.
Hello Blue
We had rain overnight.
High today was about 60.
My wife's older sister is in town staying with her daughter so we went to visit today. About an hour each way.
First time we traveled without going for groceries or doctor visit in over a year.
Most reg. gas is at $2.69 or higher.
S.J.
There was a report on the Village website that the vaccine registration doesn't handle well two applications from the same computer. People are waiting for acknowlegement for weks while their spouse has been in already. We found that even phoning to register my application disappeared. Talking to the nurse in person got us appointments for Monday.
Greetings, gang.

There's a light sprinkle outside my window this morning. A little over a tenth of an inch has fallen with maybe a little more before the morning is over. 45 now headed for 55 this afternoon but I have my doubts about that.

Quiet day yesterday. Just in a blah mood all day. Today looks to be the same. Laundry is about the only major chore on the list for today.

All stay safe.

Tom
