Greetings, gang.

Cloudy 64 and very damp this morning. Supposed to clear off and get to near 80 by this afternoon.

Looks to be a fairly quiet weekend. If Nebraska loses today I'm pretty much done with Nebraska football. Racing tomorrow morning. Otherwise not much planned for the weekend. I need to make a run to the farmers market for a couple ears of corn for Monday. Monday will be a steak on the grill and the aforementioned corn. Looks like I need to keep an eye on the neighborhood. I've seen a number of cop cars cruising around lately, including one at about 4 AM with its light bar lit up coming out of an alley. My brother sent me an invitation to come to Des Moines for a ride on a tourist train. I declined. Not real keen on crowds at the moment. Enjoy the last weekend of summer.

Tom - glad to hear your wife is doing well.

Frank - glad to hear you are sleeping and eating well. Very difficult to do sometimes.

Don - hope you are doing well also.

All stay safe.

Tom
Good morning everyone, Saturday, my chance to sleep in, and sleep in I did, usually up by 4:00, didn't get up today until 5:30. I know, that's even early for some folks, but ever since my stint in the USAF, I've been used to those hours. Just no longer have a barrack guard to wake you up.

Thanks Tom, I do better each day, but since my robotic surgery required five small incisions, they are still bothersome. No stitches, they glued them all and the glue is just now starting to come loose. The wonders of science... Worship I saw the machine, it was gigantic and looked more like a four-headed Hydra than Robbie the Robot. Icon_e_surprised

It did hit 100 yesterday, a bit higher for the next week or so. They do have some rain guesses for later in the week, when and the chances are in debate. I'll know it rained when I see puddles in the street. The TV lady had compiled the rain totals since the start of our Monsoon season, she says we got around 4" here in Surprise, I'm skeptical about that, she also showed some areas getting over 11" which is more than our normal yearly total, and we still have a couple of weeks left in the season. They're still talking about cutting back on water usage.

Not much planned for this holiday weekend. It is Labor Day on Monday, the only real change in my life is that they collect the garbage one day later next week. I could give myself the day off, but I wouldn't know the difference.

Take care and have a great weekend....
Morning.  Fall like outside.  Wish I could be out in it.  Frankie on the way to come and do some chores for me.  Rested good.  Now to eat.  Actually have to force myself to eat.  PT guy coming at noon [about time].  Enjoy your day.
Pleasant afternoon. Sat on the porch for a few.

PT guy came and we now have a program to "rebuild" me. Coming Monday.

My CVS pharmacist "sister" came to the house and gave me my Pfizer booster shot. We will see if I have some reaction.

Think I will have wings for dinner. Got to eat more.

Later.
Good morning all, nothing different going on this way. Still hot, still high humidity and dew point, still no rain. Still hard to get a doctor appointment. My doctor is down to three days a week, appointments with him are out four months. Had to see one of his PA's, even then it was a week before one was available. It could be that everyone that waited through the Covid-19 thing is now ready to see a doctor. It'll get worse when the snowbirds arrive, they not only jam up the Post Office and stores, but doctor offices as well.

Whoever came up with the idea to sell unpainted pewter N scale vehicles had to have streak of sadism in them. Whomever fell for buying some, (me), has to be a bit masochistic, or just plain dumb. I bought some plastic ones and a bunch of pewter. Plastic comes apart so the windows and wheels are separated and easy to paint, but one person can build a full-sized car or truck in less time than it's taking me to just paint a pewter one. I've got layers of magnification and brushes so small you can count the bristles but the results look like a kindergarten project. Fortunately, I have an ultrasonic cleaner that strips them so I can start anew. Got one pretty much done, only five more to go.

Frank, looks like you're doing better, it'll take time, there's a rule, the older we are, the longer it takes for anything we do, anything....
Hello Blue
Sun and 80 today.
It has to be 4th of July holiday, it can't possibly be Labor Day already.
Plus I heard some fireworks last night.
They are legal here on Holidays.
No toy train news.

Good afternoon folks

It is a cloudy 71 going to 74 with a chance of showers.

Got a bunch of chores done around the house. Waiting for some laundry to dry and wash. Yesterday I trimmed the weeping cherry tree, the andromeda bush, and weeded a small section of the garden around them. Not sure how much longer the andromeda has. It was here when we moved in 30 years ago.

I worked on painting the mortar lines on the Union Station kit. I hope to finish them today.

Wife is doing better. She is still feeling worn out, but she is not exhausted the way she was a few weeks ago.

I hope everybody has a good day.
Afternoon all.  Being lazy today.  Finally got to office.  Feel good though.  Had my COVID booster shot last night [chemo Dr. said do].  Lucky my CVS pharmacist is my adopted sister and she came to the house and administered.  No reaction at all.

Watching HGTV and Home Town.  Laurel Miss. and NS tracks run through the town.  After each break, opening scene is NS going through town.

Hope all have a very good week head.
well another week down the drain . leg with the clot has been giving me grief guess i will have to make another trip to Tucson ..
Jim
Good morning everyone, hot, hot, hot, it's getting old, we should top last year which was up there. I know, there are folks a lot worse off, cleaning up what's left from hurricanes, twisters and flooding and my heart goes out to them. We know how to deal with the heat, but we are also permitted to complain as well.

Speaking of complaining, the voters approved the sale of recreational pot, and the legislature passed a bill that allows betting on sports games. College, professional and probably Little League wagers are OK, and now folks are complaining about the TV ads that go with these things. Someone should have thought ahead a bit, they are just now wondering what affect this will have on the children. 35

Jim, sorry to see you're still having problems, lets hope they can sort things out. You are in our prayers as well.

Today is Labor Day here in the US, a day of tribute to those who work, which should be most everyone except use retirees that have earned the right not to have to work. I guess other countries have their tribute days as well, but this is ours, and the unofficial end of summer, so relax and have another hot dog or burger. Me, I was going to have BBQ ribs, but I forgot to take them out of the freezer. Icon_redface
Greetings, gang.

Sunny and 68 at the moment headed for sunny and 85 later on with only light wind. Perfect holiday weather!

F1 race yesterday was moderately entertaining. After that not much was accomplished. I did fabricate and install a new transition piece from the kitchen to the dining room. I don't have anything planned for today.

Don - get those ribs out and set them in the sun. They will not only thaw out but will be half cooked in a half hour!

All stay safe.

Tom
A little slow this afternoon.  Blood ox really good.  PT went well.  Guy said I would be tired.  Lazing around.  Hope all are OK.  Later.
Good morning everybody, just one word on the weather, HOT. We're looking at 110 later in the week.

Well, we all knew it was going to happen, Brenda's was holding on to $1.00 for a cup of coffee, and it was kept full. The new owners doubled the price and the new menu says, "one refill". I know, other places charge close to $3.00, but a buck for coffee was the draw. We're going to Denny's this morning, coffee is higher there, but they have specials that offset that.

Still struggling with my N scale pewter vehicles. I put a gray primer on coat rather than white so I didn't have to paint the glass, and now it's taking at least three coats to cover. My ultrasonic cleaner is getting a workout stripping back down to metal and starting over. Almost time to take photos to see how bad they really look. Waiting

Take care everyone, prayers for those in need, have a great day....
Greetings, gang.

Cloudy at the moment but supposedly clearing off later but we all know how accurate the (insert favorite forecaster here) is. 79 today but pretty windy - up to 25 mph.

A beautiful day yesterday. Perfect end to summer topped off with steak on the grill and corn on the cob. Looks like a long string of "nothing going on" days. Gas price was down to $2.78 at some stations yesterday. That will probably jump back to $2.99 later this morning. That seems to be the trend lately. Start the week high and then slowly drop through the week.

All stay safe.

Tom
Morning all. Pretty day. Will be a lot warmer. Got some home nurse coming middle of morning. undefined Do my PT exercises and breathing treatments. Did eat breakfast. undefined Scheduled Caddy for a routine service.
