Jim, when you go, check out their stock of N stuff, especially kits. If it's worth going I might just cruise down that way.

Don wont go there till April but when i do will take a few photos of n scle stuff and send them to you ,

Good morning everyone, I woke up to snow falling this morning. They are calling for up to 2-4 inches of snow today. This wasn't supposed to start until later on today but I guess mother nature had different plans for today. Hope you all are doing well and staying warm or cool depending on where you are at.
Hello Blue
Sun and 40s for the day.
I'm thinkin, I might be able to put the dog sled away soon.

Good morning all, this gas situation is getting out of hand and there should be no excuse for it. We're now running $4.59 with Cheveron at $4.95. Looked at the LA area, saw one Cheveron station there at $6.99. That's crazy.

Thanks Jim, I appreciate that. If gas gets any higher it might be cheaper to fly down to Tucson. Waiting

Got a free day today, nothing scheduled. started to look for material to make my challenge with, got what I need if I'm willing to settle for brick where I'd prefer rockwork. It will work if need be.

Temps today around 70, heading into the 80's by next week. Still no Spring Training games, millionaires fighting over more millions and so many baseball service people are not working, so many people not coming here to watch the games.

Take care and have a safe and fun day....
Good morning everyone. It is a cool 36 degrees here this morning. We are going to be under a winter storm watch from friday until sunday. Hopefully this will be the last snow storm of the season and we can finally move onto the warmer weather we all have been waiting for. Now it's time for me to head to work, have a good day everyone.
Good morning folks

It is 32 heading up to 50.

I saw gas prices at $4.53 at the usually cheapest station near us. Gas Buddy is showing $4.29 at the station we usually go to in Delaware. Now I am really glad I am retired and not making that commute to work. I used burn through a tank of gas every three days on that drive. Now I am getting about 10 days to two weeks on a tank of gas. Took wife to see an attorney yesterday to discuss the possibility of her going on disability due to her back and the fact her employer won't let her come back to wok on restricted duty. She stopped getting paid as of March 2nd.

I had one of those unexpected projects yesterday. Went looking for some office supplies and wound up cleaning out a drawer set we converted into a filing cabinet. I got quite a bit of trash out of it and was able to store a few things that have been perpetually moving from place to place in the house.

I added metal wheels and screws to coupler clips on 4 more Athearn Blue Box boxcars. I painted wheels sets for another 10 cars that I hope to tune up today.

Wife has therapy today and we should stop at the grocery store.

I hope everybody has a good day.
Greetings, gang.

16 going to 26. Warmer next week (so "they" say) with highs in the mid 60s.

Back home from the base of Mount Rushmore. A fun weekend capped off with the Ladies and Laces game Tuesday evening. The mothers of the high school hockey teams versus the wives/girlfriends of the local semi pro hockey team. A fun evening.

Today will be laundry and shopping. I let the food supplies dwindle before I left and now I need to build them back up again. Not much else planned for today.

All stay safe.

Tom
Good morning.
We have sunshine and with the sun directly shining on my outdoor thermometer I have 58 degrees, 20 degrees cooler in the shade.

Tom I am glad you had such a good time on the trip. Who won the ladies match? You won't enjoy the trip to the grocery store at all today, and probbly not for a long time into the future. I guess we will soon become a nation that doesn't have as many obese folks before too long.

I am scanning slides for the historical society once again. I did 150 yesterday at 3200 DPI it takes about 3 minutes per slide. Many of these are pictures of old pictures i have already scanned in high resolution from negatives or prints but I don't know that looking at the preview scan.

        Cheers

Hi again from the world down under , Love to see the pics of your dogs Charlie, brings back a lot of memories of my many brilliant dogs over the course of our farming career. I don't have a dog the moment because of the difficulty of finding someone to look after it while we travel, not that that happens much now.   Icon_cry
Fuel prices here just hit $2.00 a litre, ($2.15 in some places) that's getting close to US $8 a gallon I reckon.

On the bright side it is Autumn here, and usually our best weather, and the Average temp. is about 24℃, ( with today reaching 28℃  (82℉)   and the Ocean looks lovely

Good morning folks

It is 32, heading up to 56 but don't worry we will have a frozen mix by tomorrow with lows around 19.

The wife had another good therapy session. I finally got the dining room floor done. Not much else. The check engine light came on in y daughter's car last on her way home from work.

No modeling yesterday. I hope to get back to tuning up more freight cars.

Looks like I have to get gas either today or tomorrow. I need to make a grocery store run also.

I hope everybody has a good day.
Welcome back, Jack. Always good to hear from friends around the world.

Greetings, gang.

Clear ad 21 headed for clear and 25. 33 tomorrow and the mid 50s on Sunday.

Pretty quiet day yesterday. Got the laundry caught up and the freezer restocked. Also got the car washed. This morning I'll head to the gym for some swimming and walking. Sunday should see the return of the bicycle. Looking forward to that. Gas price as of yesterday morning was still below $4 but will probably be higher today.

All stay safe.

Tom
Good morning everyone, kind of a different day today, I'm not going out for breakfast, so I slept in an extra hour, almost feels like a Saturday to me. Today is also when Pat (Duffy) has his surgery. I've posted something  here  to keep everyone updated since it is a serious open heart procedure.

Temps still in the low 70's for a few days, then the 80's starting Monday.

Gas is ridiculous everywhere, we should see $5.00 a gallon by next week. Cheapest gas here is Sam's Club at $4.50, Cheveron is $4.95

Have a project where I need a sheet of plywood. OSB used to be around $10, is now $60, plywood $80 a sheet. I haven't gone to the grocery store for a few days, probably stop by the bank to get a loan before I do. The problem with us single guys is that they don't make too much for just one person. A can of soup may have more than one real serving, but not enough for two and so part goes into the garbage disposal. But maybe that's the next move, shrink the can sizes. Just like toilet paper and paper towels, they shrunk them so many times that they had to come up with double and triple roll sizes to match what used to be a normal size roll.

Take care, have a good day and remember, prayers for Pat and anyone else in need.
Good morning all.
It is really good to hear from you Jack. I hope you have posted about your layout. (I still have to see all the new threads and posts listed).

Gas here this morning is 4.089.

33 degrees heading for 54 with storm warnings up for a possibility it may snow anywhere from nothing to 6 inches depending on the mood of the foreguessers.

          Still scanning slides.

Diet is working, I am starving but down 18 pounds since the last trip to the doctor. I know most of that is water so the next 18 will be a lot harder.

Don, I don't mix water with the canned soup so I can eat a whole can and it tastes better. I really like the Clover Farms vegetable beef. My wife picked some up at Dollar General and we have discovered their Clover Farms brand is better than many of the National brand names.  We are less than a mile from a new DG. Last snow storm there was no bread anywhere except DG had 3 loafs of Clover Farm wheat. I don't like wheat bread but I got a loaf anyway because my wife eats it. It was really good so I have changed my opinion on it.  I hope they expand their grocery line in our area because we only have one "super market"  and their prices range from 15 to 25% higher than the next store that is 10 miles away.

Inflation at 7.9% officially but from what I see it looks more like 50%. They items we need the most are what are going out of sight. I don't see how the little guy in business will come out of this after the lockdowns they have been through. I hope they find a way to survive. I know I am doing OK but I really have to be frugal with my money because at our age you never know what is going to be a sudden need.

Don, Prayers for Duffy, and prayers for you too.  I want to offer special prayers for Ukraine also.

          Cheers

Charlie - I forgot to talk about the ladies hockey. It started out with the refs bringing their beer (and other beverages) into their cage and sampling it frequently throughout the game. Penalties were determined by whoever was ahead at the time. What the actual penalty was was sometimes determined by a coin toss. The wives/girlfriends "won" 6-3 because they had 3 players who had actually been on skates before. Towards the end of the game two of the ladies had a mock fight. The whole place was rocking all evening and after it was over each team got to line up and try for a score. The only bad part of the evening was that one of the ladies was injured and had to be helped off the ice. I haven't heard any update on how badly she was injured.

That sounds like it was so much fun. If you hear of a video of that match up I would love to watch it. The country needs a lot more fun things instead of everyone being offended by everything.
