59 and warming fast. Sunny and beautiful Easter. God bless all.

TV Church today.
Baked ham, potato salad and asparagus. A couple of friends coming later for a meal.
Enjoy the day of celebration of resurrection.
Hello Blue
A beautiful Michigan day with sun and a warm 70.
We had Easter dinner with #2 son. Spent  the afternoon and came home around 6.
No breaking news in my train world.
S.J.
Good morning all, I hope you all had a nice Easter. Me, I had dinner with my family, no chocolate bunnies, not even a jelly bean. Stopped by Walmart, not one piece of Easter candy. That's probably a good thing.

We didn't get to 100 yet, close, 97 for the past few days, around 90 for the next week or two. Nobody has rain in their forecast except the MS app, which fudges on 1% every day. I guess they were right the last Thursday when it sprinkled and now my pockmarked truck looks just like it did before I took it through the car wash Wednesday.

I have a busy week, so I'm not sure how much I'm going to get done on my "do something" challenge.
Greetings, gang.

64 and cloudy at the moment. A light shower moved through about an hour ago. Even had a couple of rumbles of thunder. More chances for rain off and on through Thursday. High for today is supposed to be around 80.

Yesterday was more productive than I had originally planned. Got in a nice bike ride. After that I cleaned up some leaves and other debris from the back yard. Got the track cleaning train out for the Backyard & Southern Railway. Went to change the pad on the track cleaning car and discovered the pad was glued in place. Some work with a heat gun and a scraper removed the old pad. Then I built a new retainer for the pad. Future changes should only be a matter of minutes rather than the hour it took yesterday. After that I ran the train for about an hour, getting the track ready for this weekend. Also found a couple of loose rail joiners that I'll fix today.

Along with the aforementioned repair I'll head to the gym for a swim. Also plan to take a bike ride and maybe a quick trip to Walmart this morning. Other activities may or may not occur.

All stay safe.

Tom
61 and warming fast. Breakfast [two fried chicken legs] and coffee. Now ready for the day.

Hope all are having a great week.

Shoulder blade muscle still HURTS! Calling Dr.

Tom, always work to do on the railroad.

Farms tomorrow to spray before grass around campers jumps too high.

Later.

I'm guessing that you are using "Big Blue Light" rather than "Big Blue Dark" to view the forum. Our default text will show up as white on the blue background (dark), or black on the white background (light). Sometimes someone winds up using text that is white to begin with (maybe cut and paste), and so it will show up as normal if you are using the dark viewer, but will disappear if you're using the light viewer. You can do one of two things, switch to the "Big Blue Dark" (bottom right of any screen here), or simply select the text with your mouse pointer (or ctrl-A), and it will show up as black while you have it selected. This is also a good trick in finding hidden text on a white screen on any website or message, selecting the text reverses the color.
Good afternoon folks

Currently 65 and windy. Supposed to go up another degree.

Thought about putting up the canopy on the gazebo but it is too windy. Thing will be blowing around too much.

Getting here late today. My wife had a rough night sleeping. She was getting the chills and running a low-grade fever. She was up and down constantly and could not get comfortable. Appears to be a late reaction to her second shot. She is scheduled to go back to work on Thursday if the school reopens.

We had a peaceful, uneventful Easter other than me having to run out and get chopped peanuts for the sweet potato casserole. Saturday we ran some errands until the wife was too tired to continue. Friday, however, was the stress day. I had to travel to four PetSmarts before I found the prescription dog food. I did not have a choice as we were out of the only one the dog will eat. Took me about 3 hours and about 85 miles.

I did start on the Engine House. I added the mortar lines.

I hope to continue on the Engine House or tracklaying as the wyes showed up today.

I hope everybody has a good day.
49 and fair. Out the door with jackets. Heavier one for early, lighter one in case it is windy down east [usually is] and I have on short sleeves. Suppose to be around 80 there later.

Enjoy your day.

Greetings, gang.

Had a fairly easy day yesterday - swim at the gym and rode the bike. I did get the track fixed and ran two different trains, seeing which one would stay on the track better. I did find another place that could use some adjustment. May do that today if it's not raining. Talked to both daughters last night, making plans for the weekend. Found out 6 more relatives will be here Saturday evening. Could be around 30 people in my back yard. Working on getting some games for the little ones. Could be a fun evening.

All stay safe.

Tom
Good morning all, speaking of Jackets, we're just about ready to pack ours up for the season. It's only 5:00 AM here and we're already in the low 70's. Still, it's not suppose to get too much over 90 today, got to 95 yesterday though.

Still don't know how much I'm going to get done on my challenge this week, too many appointments. Had to drive to the other side of town yesterday just to pick up a document that was recorded as part of my mortgage refi. The last time I was there, I picked up a check too, so I didn't mind so much then... I am, however, just about ready to hang up my display case. Yeah, even when you just spend a few minutes at a time, you can eventually get something finished. It takes way way longer since each time you have to remember where you left off and where is everything that your working with. Get to redo a lot as well this way since this method of progress is really prone to screwing up frequently. Icon_cry No, I really didn't mean to cut that board that short, where did I put that board stretcher???? Icon_redface So your scrap pile grows bigger, but you are making progress and that's what counts. Icon_e_biggrin

Have a great day.
Hello Blue
Sun and 76 today.
A dental cleaning today, gotta keep that last tooth clean..lol
The grass cutters came today. I didn't expect them so soon into the season but it does look nice.

Greetings, gang.

Cloudy and 61 with some light showers in the area. Better rain chances later in the day with a high near 70.

Good workout at the gym and then a fairly short bike ride in the afternoon. Tried repairing the track but that didn't work well. Decided not to put the crabgrass killer down until after everyone is gone. Nothing major on the to-do list for today.

All stay safe.

Tom
70 degrees and going into the 80's. Need to put shade cloth on greenhouse. Will spray inside with water hose. Mow over the front yard as did not do the other day. Slept good and only woke twice with some slight pain. A lot better than any night recently.

National news showing states with all vaccines available to those 16 and above in red. NC was white. Wrong. NC vaccines are available to all 16 and above. NBC, get your stats right.

Enjoy your day.
