Hello Blue
Sun and 85 today till the evening storms move through.
We had a nice afternoon with #2 son yesterday. Some burnt offerings from the grill and some home made tater salad made for a nice day. Weather was perfect.
This morning was foot doctor, Ace Hardware for canning lids and gas @ $3.19.

Potato salad sounds delicious. You have me wanting to make some now lol
One of my wife's cousins said she loved family picnics because everyone made different potato salads.

We had an evening of major rain. Tornado watch for areas noth of us.
Good morning, Wednesday and we're a quarter of the way into September, amazing how fast time goes by anymore. Just about time for Walmart and Target to put out their Christmas stuff. I do need time to shop, but not that much.

Nothing has changed with the weather, hot and dry. TV lady says 15 minutes outside and you'll start to burn. I'd try defrosting my ribs the way like Tom suggested, but I'm afraid they might burn up sitting in the sun. Icon_redface It's a lot more fun when you do that in the grill, which I often do, works well if you like chewing on charcoal. Icon_rolleyes

Love homemade 'tater salad, can't stand the store bought kind, hate those little red things they put in it.

Take care and have a fun day....
Good morning folks

It is a bright and sunny 68 going up to 83. We have storms coming our way and they say there could be flooding rain and wind. Just what we need.

I didn’t make it here the last few days. For various reasons my computer time was somewhat limited to the late evening. My wife had a relapse of the bleeding Sunday night and Monday. She called the doctor, and they gave her some medication which seems to be helping. She felt good enough to go to work this morning.

I get a few small items around the house off the list but not as many as I had hoped.

I did work some on the Walthers Union Station kit with painting the mortar lines. I need to apply a second coat.

I plan to run to Delaware to get gas today. While I am down there I may wander over the hobby store. I also need to make a grocery store run.

I hope everybody has a good day.
Happy National Star Trek Day, gang.

53 and sunny outside my window this morning headed for the upper 70s.

Pretty quiet day for me. I did go for a bike ride and it was a struggle on the way out of town but a very easy ride home with the 20 mph wind at my back. Due to scheduling conflicts our Thursday group has decided to get together on Wed. Going to a pizza place about 45 minutes away. Also thinking about going to Omaha this weekend to watch great-grandkids play football. Gas price was really goofy yesterday. As I expected the price jumped to $2.99 early but then dropped to $2.78. Go figure!

All stay safe.

Tom

BREAKING NEWS - the newspaper this morning confirmed what had been rumored for a while now. Harbor Freight is coming to town. No opening date yet and remodeling of an existing building has not yet started. HF had to go to planning and zoning to get a variance for a new sign. The variance was denied.
Morning.  Cloudy and chance of a shower.  PT went well.  Showing more stamina.  Eating better too.  Computer stuff to do today. Then the usual TV.  Boring.  Hope all have a great day.

OH, Tom, you'll love Harbor Freight.
Sun and 75 today.
The worst of yesterday's storms kinda went around us. Lots of noise and some rain but no real threat.
HF is lot's of fun to stroll through we have one nearby. Don't buy a gas generator there though a close friend in the repair business says no parts for them. I don't know otherwise but I'm taking his word for it.
Tater salad is just a memory now, till next time.

Good morning all, I hope everyone is doing well this morning. I missed National Star Trek Day yesterday, although I did watch towards the ends of their first and last movies. I've got some of the others recorded to watch anytime.

The heat is relentless, no relief until the end of next week. There's still a few 110 days there, today only 109. This could go down as one of the hottest summers on record, also one of the wettest, at least in some areas.

Going to Brenda's this morning, the new owner still hasn't come by to introduce herself to any of the regulars, of which there are fewer and fewer.

Got all my vehicles done except one, I should have that done today. Nothing else on he schedule, maybe a stop at Walmart on the way back from breakfast. We have three full-sized and one "Marketplace" within a few minutes drive, yet I drove to one around 10 miles away yesterday to get something that the web site showed they had. They didn't.... A friend in the transport business tells me that there are close to 50 container ships outside of Long Beach, just waiting to be unloaded. Cannot find folks to work the docks or drive the trucks. We have 5 million people on unemployment, yet we have 10 million jobs looking to be filled.

Have a great day, stay safe and be happy.... Icon_e_biggrin
Greetings, gang.

Hazy sunshine outside my window this morning. A little cool yet at 63 but supposed to get to the mid 70s by this afternoon. Near 90 by Saturday.

Traumatic day yesterday. Had to rake some leaves for the first time this season. I have one tree in the back yard that is the first to drop leaves in the fall and the last to get them back in the spring. Otherwise a fairly routine day. This morning I've already been to the yard waste disposal site. Next up is to wash the car and maybe wax it before winter sets in.

Frank - there are a couple of drawbacks to having HF in town. First it was an excuse to get out of town for a day to drive to one in Des Moines or Waterloo - each about 90 minutes away with additional shopping not available here in town. The second is that now I will have take out a second mortgage to get all the stuff I want! Continue improving. I know you got this!

All stay safe.

Tom
Rained big time. undefined We got 1.53". [total for two days = 2.90"] Western part of the county was under flash flood warning. Wow. Could tell it was pouring while having chemo. Speaking of chemo, magnesium [always one bag which takes an hour] and only one bag of chemo today [30 minutes].
Greetings, gang.

Clear and 58 outside my window this morning. Headed for the mid 80s today and the low 90s tomorrow.

I did manage to get the car washed and waxed yesterday. After that I went for a bike ride and had something happened that has never before happened in all my years of riding a bike. The chain cam off. It was an easy enough fix bu somewhat greasy. Otherwise a fairly routine day. Not much going on today. Tomorrow grade school football starts. Always fun. Gas price jumped to $3.09 yesterday.

All stay safe.

Tom
Good morning everyone. No, it didn't get to 108 like they said, it got to 111 yesterday according to the TV lady. Still, no relief in sight through the coming week. Here we are, Friday again, how did we get here this quick? If this week goes a quickly as the past ones, we should be into decent weather in about two blinks of an eye.....

No early breakfast this morning, no coffee, no food until I get through with my CT scan. Good thing that I'm retired, I wouldn't have time for all these medical appointments that they expect us old folk to go to. I think they plan things that way.

No plans for the weekend for me, just go with the flow. Might watch a bit of football until they start acting like grossly overpaid children. They say that when they ask kids what they want to do for careers, most now say they want to get into professional sports. I can see why, most player's signing bonuses are larger that a doctor, astronaut or engineer will make in a lifetime.

Have a great day and a fun weekend...
Chilly morning. Did not sleep well. Did nap after chemo yesterday. Bacon and scrambled eggs for breakfast.  Neck not doing good but Tylenol will help. Nothing on agenda for today.

Hope all have a good one.
Sun and 70s for the day. Was 55 this morning when I got up.
Was surprised to see that Monday was my last post. Where did the week go?
