Greetings, gang.

More cloudy/hazy/smoky skies this morning. 70 now headed for 90 later. 80% chance of 1-2 inches of rain tonight.

Routine day yesterday and today looks to be more of the same. Thursday group was pretty quiet last night with only the two of us. Swimming this morning followed by...?

Don - glad all went well for you yesterday. Prayers for a speedy recovery.

All stay safe.

Tom
Good morning everyone, yet another weekend within reach. No real storms in the forecast, they can't really tell anyway just how severe one will be until it hits. We indeed need them, even if they miss us by a few miles.

Thanks Tom, recovery is going to be slow, I guess that's the way it is, the older you are, the longer it takes. One thing that's not helping is the insurance company says I'm not covered because the doctor is "out of network", but the doctor's office says they are. So I have a battle on my hands. Never thought something like this would come up,, especially since I've already had the surgery. I've already filed an appeal.

Just going to take it easy for a while, I can do things standing up better than sitting, so I'm doing what I can on my layout.

I hope everyone has a great day and a fun and safe weekend.
Good morning.
Mow the grass day then more work on the RV. Still had a leak in the roof so I climbed a ladder and started scraping. There was enough sealer on it to seal a hundred RV's which actually made it easy. It has hardened and brittle so it came off in huge chunks. The roof underneath is like new so a quick caulk along the seam should do the trick. I will have to remove the molding at some point to do it right but I want to make it water tight for now.
Don, make sure the doc sends the paper work in correctly. We just fought the insurance and the lab over a bill for lab work because the lab sent the bill to our insurance co but in another state We pay 9 bucks for this but they wanted 486 dollars for the same test. I called them and told them if they wanted their money do it right. They kept sending me a bill for the 486 so I finally called them and told them that I was not responsible for their mistake and there was no way I was going to pay it. It must have worked because the bill was marked paid when I checked online.
I hope there is lots of rain in the Lake Mead water shed. You need a moratorium for any more people moving into your area or no one will have any water there. I still find it amazing that you folks pay less for water than the folks that live in town here.
Prayers for everyone and as always praying for a cure for all diseases.
Charlie
Good afternoon folks

From a dreary Delaware Valley with the temperature 76 going to 81 with more storms.

The NWS has confirmed two more tornadoes for our area making 13 total in the last two weeks.

Yesterday I over did it weeding the rest of the front gardens. My back was killing me last night and today is still stiff. I wanted to get as many weeds out while the ground was soft from the recent rains.

I did get to run some trains last evening.

I have to take my son to see the podiatrist in a few minutes.

Don, here is hoping for a speedy recovery.

I hope everybody has a good day.
Here we go.  Seems I still have pneumonia hiding in my lungs.  Plan: get rid of the pneumonia and then finish chemo.  If not, right back in the hospital. Taking two strong antibiotics [which tires you out].  Moved from couch to recliner which is a lot better.  Can snooze and watch TV without moving.

Feel a lot better this afternoon than earlier.  Breathing treatments done.

Hope all have a good one.
Chief: Old joke:
Doctor: You've got the common cold and there's no cure for that. But we can turn it into pneumonia, and there's a treatment for that.

I took Dayle down to see her sister (in Hospital) and she talked to her doctor. Her sister is a bit livelier. The doctor never thought she'd be this bad after the operation.
The trip is 90 minutes down, i hour visit, 90 minutes return plus 20 minutes picnic. I went to Brantford station and saw 2 trains.
Getting old is not for the feint of heart.....

Prayers to all who need them!!!
Off to bed in big bed for first time in months.  Feeling good.  Hope this works.
6 hours in big bed. Now wide awake. Some joints aching so that doesn't help to go back to sleep. Will go reclinerize.

Hope all have a great day.
Greetings, gang.

64 and clear this morning. high is supposed to be in the upper 70s. Had a series of thunderstorms move through during the evening. Got and inch and 3/4 in the rain gauge this morning. Lots of thunder and lightning also.

Pretty quiet day ahead. Typical Saturday projects - laundry, house cleaning, etc. Gas price was down a little so I thought I would go fill my car yesterday. Went to my regular station for the 91 octane my car uses and the price was $3.61. I get a sticker each time I fill up and when the book is full (12 stickers) I get $5 off my next purchase. I was curious and bored so I drove through the local Walmart station. Much to my surprise 91 octane was $3.20. If I had filled up at Walmart I would have saved about$4 - almost the amount I would have saved after 12 fills at my old station. Guess I'll be buying gas at Walmart from now on.

All stay safe.

Tom
Good morning good people. Really going slow, literally. My best position is lying down, but the doctor wants me to move around. A bit sadistic, but I try. Not much appetite, but don't have any desire to even get something into the microwave. Like Mikey says, getting old is not for the faint of heart. But... it beats the alternative.

Frank, good to see that you're able to get around better, gotta take baby steps sometimes.

Tom, that's kind of high for gas, usually we're higher than most places. Right now, Costco is the lowest in our neighborhood, at $2.79, most others are at $3.09. I've not bought gas anywhere but Costco since they opened nearby a year ago. Oil prices are really dropping, why don't we see that at the pumps?

Speaking of neighborhoods, here's a map of the rain gauges throughout our county showing the rain for the past seven days. Notice the bullseye, right where we live, not a drop. How that's possible is mind boggling. That's Wickenburg up in the top-left, and below that just north of I-10 is where we normally go target shooting.

Feeling good.  Back in office paying bills.  Hot outside.  Back to den to R&R in recliner.
Bed time crew.  Sleep tight.
Greetings, gang.

56 and sunny headed for 82 and sunny. Heat moves back in for a couple of days starting tomorrow. 90s with high humidity.

Yesterday was pretty quiet/boring until around 7 last night. Got a text that my granddaughter's brain lesions are gone and chemo can resume. Mastectomy probably in the near future also.

Don - that gas price was for the 91 octane. The 87 octane is selling for $2.90 here.

All stay safe.

Tom
Good morning and a happy Sunday to you all. Just staying home again today, just a few more days and I should be doing better. Sitting still is good, but for some reason, the doctor wants me active, just no heavy lifting.

Yeah Tom, I see that now, I miss a lot of details these days, but it's what old folk do best.... Icon_cry Glad to hear about your granddaughter, we wish her the best.

Frank, good to see you're doing as well as you are, that's good news.

Temps now over 100, pushing 110 by mid-week. Looks like a reasonable chance of rain by next weekend, but we've missed out on so many good chances the past few weeks, I have little confidence of it raining.  Looking over the neighborhood, I see that the little rain that we did get is bringing up the weeds. I got fined $75 a few months ago by the HOA for having four weeds in one spot. Most HOA police dogs are overzealous when it comes to weeds, leaving your garbage can out and parking on the streets at night.

Y'all have a fine and fun day. Maybe an old-fashion Sunday, a stroll in the park, a ride in the country in your hand-cranked open flivver, a stop for a nickle ice cream cone or hotdog. Dream on, were those really the, "good ol' days"......
