HOT and HUMID.  Outside chores done.  Now Town Hall and errands after cooling off and shower.
Greetings, gang.

Cloudy and 76 with a sprinkle right now. Temperature is supposed to fall to 69 by later this afternoon. Falling temperatures during the day is another sure sign that fall is on the way.

Stocked up on popsicles and jello yesterday. Then I spread four bags of rock and a bag and a half of pea gravel on the outdoor trains. Could use another three bags of rock.

Had my last meal until tomorrow afternoon. Preparations under way for my colonoscopy tomorrow. By tomorrow afternoon I'm going to be really hungry and grumpy until I eat.

All stay safe.

Tom
Hello Blue
3 days in the 90s, for us that's hot.
Grumpy I mean Tom it will be over and it's a good thing to have done.
Just checkin in.
S.J.
Good morning all we're still in the low 100's for a while yet I'm getting a bit tired not able to touch the steering wheel of our van, or even the door handles because it was outside too long. The risk of a burn is high. I always seem to forget that our van has remote start, and I should be able to cool it down before we go out. One day I'll remember....

Well, our primaries are over and a lot of the "elect me" signs will remain up since the winners get to keep them up until the general election. Somebody with a sense of humor put up a series of signs (think Burma Shave) in Sun City West, "just what we need, another sign". They only stayed up a few days, obviously, someone else didn't think they were funny.
Don: Are elections now the US's biggest industry? We spend a month over there each summer and that seems to be all that's going on.
Greetings, gang.

Clear and 56 degrees this morning with an anticipated high of 77. Rain chances start tonight and last through Sunday night.

Preparation for a colonoscopy should be banned under the eighth amendment which bans cruel and unusual punishment. Went through and entire roll of toilet paper and lost over 3 pounds. The procedure was no problem, just the preparation. They found 3 polyps but no lab report yet.

Today will be a day of food and resting, along with some house cleaning. Got family coming over the weekend for a cookout.

David - elections may not be our biggest business but they are certainly one of our most annoying. I realize the importance but detest the negativity.

All stay safe.

Tom
And a bright and warm good morning to ya all. I can remember when pre-election rhetoric was all about the candidates and why we should vote for them. Than someone found they could win by bashing the competition, bringing out some obscure thing they did years ago and anything negative that they can say. Of course, the competition had to fire back, and now that just about all we find, and it's disgusting and annoying that a candidate would stoop that low, and so you have to wonder what they'll do when they get into office. We've now reached the 100th day of 100 degrees or more for this year, and we're still adding to that. The TV lady said it's now the 37th hottest year on record. Whoopee.... 2285_
Just an addition to my comments above. If you need to go through the above mentioned preparations be sure to drink lots of sports drinks to avoid muscle cramps. I got one in my calf while I was under yesterday and it must have been a bad one. My calf is till sore this morning.

Tom
Hello Blue
Sun and 70s today. No rain lately the lawn looks like straw. All the rain and storms rolling around Michigan missed us.
Lot's of sports drinks and water also prevents kidney damage when prepping for that test. I usually back off heavy meals the day before the prep makes the "going" easier.
A hand surgery tomorrow will leave me left handed for awhile. Trigger release repair number four.

The colonoscopy prep is intended to make the procedure seem mild by comparison.

My sister was to have one but coudn't drink the gallons of water that were required at the time. She had a cancer there and had to have a length of it plus some adjacent organs removed.
The latest prep takes a lot less water, but you still need exclusive use of a bathroom for the day before.
Greetings, gang.

Cloudy and 69 this morning with an estimated high of 82 later today. Rain chances are in the forecast from now through next Wed. With that forecast it won't take long for area farmers to start complaining about not being able to get into the fields for harvest.

Dug out a few volunteer trees yesterday and also cleaned off some shelves in the garage. Nothing major planned for today. Need to get some groceries for the weekend and hopefully pick up the new blade for the edger. Yard work is also in my future if the rain holds off long enough.

All stay safe.

Tom
Good morning everyone, the start of a long weekend for us folks in the USA. Labor Day should be a day of no labor, but millions will be toiling over a backyard BBQ grill or making their way through traffic heading to or from a place of recreation. I-17 here is usually bumper to bumper to the north all this weekend. Us, well we're staying home, I hope I have more time to sort through my broken structures, so far the damage is slight, but just about everything will need some sort of repair. Many are already set up to where I can make them into a diorama, which may be my first choice.

I agree, colonoscopy prep is the worse part of the procedure. You're so miserable that you automatically  lose your desire to eat anything. There must be a better way in store for the future....
Crazy two days.  Yesterday afternoon, a kid [16] at Rolesville HS called in a shots fired at Rolesville HS.  It was videoed and students were laughing.  Video was emailed out.  He was arrested.  Felony.  News media zoo.  I've been doing interviews and on TV news. Icon_rolleyes  PD Chief wouldn't talk to media.  After discussion with Town Manager [we both agree] he or a PD spokesperson will from now own.

R&R I hope from now on.  Got new N&W hopper cars to put behind steam engines.  No word on Class A shipped back again for repair.

Tom, prep was bad but the visit and procedure was fine.  Had pretty young ex-Navy Corpsman put me to sleep.  Was more of a private thing and not big production facility had used before.
Greetings, gang.

Cloudy and 70 at the moment with a predicted high around 80 with a 60% chance of rain. Supposed to get 2-3 inches of rain over the weekend. So far nothing.

Ran the edger around the sidewalk and patio yesterday and they look much nicer. Also picked up groceries for the weekend. Still don't know when people are arriving.

Today I'll get the potato salad made so it has plenty of time to marinate. Always tastes better the next day. Lady friend driving down this afternoon after she goes to a birthday party for a 105 year old friend. I may mow the yard this afternoon. I wanted to wait until tomorrow but will have to watch the weather. I want the back yard to look nice for everyone tomorrow.

Frank - I just don't have words for how stupid those kids were. During my procedure I had a cute young student nurse. Unfortunately she stood where I couldn't see her very well. Then I didn't see anything...

All stay safe and have a great Labor Day weekend.

Tom
Morning.  Mow and spray.  Shower and run errands.

Tom, my pretty thing came to visit before I went in the room, while in the room and then after.

Have a good one.
